CENTENNIAL HIGHLIGHTS
Churchville Nature Center Visits Davis Elementary School
Davis Elementary School recently welcomed presenters from the Churchville Nature Center who brought the Lenape people and their culture to life right in our classrooms. Students learned about food, cooking, hunting, family life, and the Lenape children's games in stations. “Wanishi” is how you say, “thank you” in the language of the Lenni Lenape. "Wanishi" to Dr. Garcia, our fourth grade team, and the Churchville Nature Center for bringing this connection to our curriculum and local history to life!
Sixth Grade English/Language Arts at Log College
Sixth grade students recently concluded reading the novel, Out of the Dust by Karen Hesse, and responded to the following prompt: "What helped sustain people’s spirits during the Great Depression?” Students have been learning how to properly construct a topic statement, introduce the idea, use textual evidence, and elaborate using critical thinking skills to analyze how people maintained a positive outlook on life during this challenging period in history.
Enjoy the responses of some of our fabulous 6B writers!
ACADEMICS
ATHLETICS
William Tennent's Bowling - Playoff Roll
On Saturday, February 1st, Tennent bowlers, Caelyn Brown, Enrique Fernandez, Noah Servis, Reese Markowski, Ryan Lovenstein, and Tristan Ziegler along with Coach Brown competed in the Baker Battle at Bristol at Bowlero Bristol in Croydon, PA. This tournament consisted of 15 baker games followed by a bracket including the top six teams. William Tennent shot 3113 over the qualifying games, bringing them to second place. After a tough match in the second round of brackets, Tennent fell short, finishing 3rd overall in the tournament.
Klipper and Colonial wrestlers!
The Klinger and Log College Middle School wrestling teams concluded their season on a triumphant note! On January 24 and 25, the teams faced off in an exciting showdown, with a total of 90 student-athletes competing in 45 JV and varsity matches.
This year marked a significant milestone as 17 young ladies joined our team! To foster a safe and supportive environment for our female athletes, both teams welcomed 2 female coaches to their roster.
Beyond this final match, the teams also participated in the Lower Bucks County League Championships on Saturday, February 1st. Their hard work paid off as they brought home a total of 12 medals, with 3 athletes achieving 3rd place at the varsity level!
The 2024-2025 season has proven to be exceptional for both teams. Congratulations to all the competitors for their dedication and accomplishments!
THE ARTS
WT Senior Declan Cashman Announced as 2025 U.S. Presidential Scholar in the Arts Nominee
The YoungArts organization announced its nominees for the 2025 U.S. Presidential Scholars in the Arts, one of the nation’s highest honors for high school students who exemplify artistic and academic excellence. YoungArts is the sole nominating agency for this prestigious honor, and the 60 candidates, representing 22 states and 10 artistic disciplines, are all YoungArts award winners with distinction.
WT Senior Declan Cashman is one of only 8 vocalists on this list from across the entire nation.
He was eligible for this nomination as he was the 2025 YoungArts Winner with Distinction in Vocal Jazz. This prestigious award recognizes young artists who exhibit exceptional technique, strong artistry, and a deep commitment to their craft. Declan was selected from nearly 11,000 applicants to attend the National YoungArts Week in Miami, Florida this January. You can view Declan's performance at the National YoungArts Week (starting at about 1:37:30). Reflecting on the experience, Declan highlighted performing at the New World Center, collaborating with top vocal coaches from across the country, and connecting with other passionate young artists from diverse disciplines as some of his favorite moments.
YoungArts, established in 1981, is a national foundation dedicated to identifying and nurturing young artists. The organization provides space, funding, mentorship, professional development, and community support to help artists realize their potential and sustain their creative careers. National YoungArts Week includes classes and workshops with leading artists in their fields, performances, writers’ readings, film screenings and an exhibition, providing the artists opportunities to further advance their craft, and allowing audiences opportunities to meet and experience these outstanding artists and their work.

The club includes 6th, 7th and 8th graders and all levels of riders are welcome. Many students started the first trip with a lesson and by the third trip were riding on intermediate slopes. The weather was wonderful and the conditions were excellent. The kids had a great time with their old and new friends who now share the love of the winter!
OFFICE OF TEACHING AND LEARNING
Survey Participation Requested: K-12 Mathematics Program Evaluation
The Office of Teaching & Learning is inviting you to add your voice and provide feedback regarding our K-12 Mathematics Program Evaluation being conducted by Hanover Research.
Centennial School District (CSD) wants to capture a clear understanding of our current Mathematics programming and identify opportunities for improving and better aligning our Mathematics curriculum for grades Kindergarten through 12.
As we have done for other subjects, the Centennial School District has requested that Hanover Research evaluate the district’s K-12 Mathematics program; Hanover will submit a Capstone Report to us in June. A crucial component of that final report is a Mathematics Program Perception Survey. Centennial wants to know staff members, parents, and students (Grades 6+) perceptions of and experiences with Mathematics teaching and learning. Your responses will help us understand the current state of the Mathematics programs in our K-12 schools.
This study is for research purposes only and is anonymous, so please be candid in your responses and do not use your name or other identifying items in your open-ended responses. The survey can be accessed HERE and will close on February 7, 2025 at midnight:

We are grateful for your participation!

FOOD AND NUTRITION
Round Up to Support Feeding School Kids
Centennial's Food & Nutrition Department is again partnering with GIANT Food Stores to help support our students facing food insecurity. We encourage the greater community to participate in this effort.
From January 1 through March 31, everyone who shops at GIANT in Warminster or Upper Southampton will be invited to "round-up" at the register and donate the round-up amount of their bill to support Feeding School Kids. Customers can also give by converting their CHOICE Rewards Points to donations in the GIANT app or purchasing a reusable bag.
We ask our school community to help spread the word about the Feeding School Kids 2025 Campaign to ensure its success. Our goal is to support the children in our district who need the most help accessing nutritious meals and snacks. From backpacks with weekend food to clearing lunch debt to building a community pantry in our schools, the funds will be provided directly to our district's food organization for use, at our discretion, to address food insecurity in our school community.
Please join us in supporting and advocating for this initiative to help ensure no child in our district experiences hunger at school or home.
