The band has been working very hard all last year and this year. Mr. Shaffer submitted to Universal Studies to see if they could play in a parade there. They finally came back to us and we were accepted!!!

Congratulations, Central Preston Band!!!

Students learned about one of the most famous American artists of all time, Georgia O'Keeffe. Mrs. Carr rotates the subjects of the lessons through the years sometimes doing West Virginia wildflowers in the style of O'Keeffe, sometimes tempera paint, sometimes oil pastels. This time we used earth tones with chalk pastels to create images of deer skulls (wildlife skulls were a theme in O'Keeffe's work). The artwork is on display in the hall and some of them will be included in the county art show in May.
