Hello, JES Parents and Guardians!
It is awesome to be back in the building with your kids! All the new students, new preschoolers, and new kindergarteners are doing amazing! They are learning the ropes and fitting right in! Transitions are never easy, and change takes time, but each day is getting better and better!
Car rider parents: thank you for being patient with us. We are learning new parent faces and new vehicles. Adjustments are being made every day to speed up the process!
One very important transportation detail: call Ms. Amber (812-752-8923) and let her know transportation changes. If your child normally rides a bus and they are a car rider...we have to radio down to the classroom to get the student. That significantly slows down our process. Please communicate any changes PRIOR to 2:30 when possible.
Finally, I want to take a moment to brag on two groups of people: our staff and our 5th graders.
- JES staff is truly exceptional. They are amazing at working together, putting kids first, and seeing kids talents, gifts, and skills. Thank you for partnering with them to make this a memorable school year!
- Our 5th graders are eagerly stepping into the role of being positive leaders in our building. I talked with them about opportunities to be morning greeters, preschool helpers, kindergarten car rider helpers, cafeteria assistants (helping young students properly dump their trays so the contents don't land on the floor), and extra friends in Mr. Tim's room. Hands shot up in the air to volunteer as I described each task. Serving others, strengthening leadership qualities and being positive role models...5th graders showing up! I am excited to watch them grow in these capacities!
Parents and guardians...you are awesome. Thank you for supporting us this year. It is great to be a JES Brave! π
