Hello GMSS families,
This week students will be taking the ELA part of the Ohio State Testing (OST'). All students will test at 9 am on Tuesday and Wednesday this week. Attendance is important so that students do not miss more class time for make ups. It is also imperative that students come prepared with charged chrome books, a writing utensil, rested and eat breakfast!
Mr. Bonath and I met with students last week for our quarterly community meetings by grade level. This is a time to set goals and reflect on areas of concerns. This is the final quarter to work on grades and study strategies. In addition, we discussed character. Being a "middle school" student is not an excuse for unkind or mean behavior. We have amazing and kind students at GMSS and sadly, while we see a lot of growth, we are seeing an increase in some behaviors. At this time of the year, expectations are well known and consequences increase. A large consequence is around the end of the year celebrations of the pool party for 8th grade and field day for 6th & 7th grade. It is my hope that every student will be able to participate. Let's be good humans!
