A Message from Principal Woofter
We had an amazing Fun Run last Friday! The weather was perfect and allowed students, parents, and staff to have a fantastic experience. Thanks to the incredible support of our school community, Archer Glen was able to meet our goal of earning $35,000. Congratulations to Mrs. Simpson's class who took home the top prize of the field trip to Adams Screen Printing! They will get to create a class design which they will watch being printed when they go for their trip.
Speaking of field trips, we have a lot of exciting opportunities coming up between field trips, class parties, and other school events. If you would like to volunteer, please consider completing the background check now. The information is linked below in the newsletter. The turnaround time for those background checks is typically 7-10 business days, so it is best to complete the process well in advance of these volunteer opportunities.
Just a reminder, there is no school for students next Friday, October 10 as it is a Statewide Inservice day. Enjoy the long weekend!
Kindly,
Sarah

New! Thank you from PAC
Dear Archer Glen Families,
We met and exceeded our $35,000 fundraising goal for the 2025-26 Fun Run!
The generous donations that were provided by you, your family, friends, neighbors and employers are used to provide needed resources for the classrooms and for the staff. Over the last 5 years, donations like yours have been used to, STEM resources, field trips, art projects, Oregon Battle of the Books resources and much more.
We in the PAC, on behalf of the staff and the students, want to extend our sincere thanks to all of you.
We are collectively honored, humbled and thankful to be part of an involved and supportive community.
It is so easy to get caught up in the challenges of our individual lives, and in our individual families. At the same time, we are a community composed of individuals and families. We come together where it matters and where it makes a difference. In the lives of our children. In support of our educators.
We are all extremely fortunate to live where we live, to send our children to school in some of the best public schools in the nation, and to have confidence in knowing that they will receive quality instruction from caring educators.
Our community works because of your involvement. With your children. With your neighbors. And with your school district.
And for that, we thank you.
Sincerely,
2025-26 Archer Glen PAC

Friendly Reminder from PE
We’ve noticed some students arriving to PE with injuries that the PE teachers haven’t received any communication about. To help us keep your child safe and make the best accommodations, we ask that any injury be communicated with a note or email from home, or documentation from a doctor. This helps us understand the situation, know when it’s safe for your child to return to full activity, and provide the right support. If you send an email, please direct it to your child’s classroom teacher, and they will forward it on to us in PE. Thank you for helping us keep all of our students safe and active!

A new application is required annually to continue receiving meals at no cost. If you have already received an email confirming your student's eligibility for School Year 2025-26, no further action is needed.

Foster children and children who meet the definition of homeless, runaway or migrant are eligible for no cost meals. Please email nutrition@sherwood.k12.or.us for more information
Please note that if your student’s eligibility expires, meals will be charged at the paid rate until a new qualifying meal application is processed.

Volunteers
The District will be welcoming volunteers back into our school buildings this year. All volunteers will need to complete and have an approved background check on file prior to volunteering (this must be renewed each school year). The background check process can take 7-10 business days, so please allow sufficient processing time if you are planning to volunteer for a specific event.
HelpCounter Volunteer Information
Our Archer Glen Parent Advisory Committee (PAC) is creating an updated email list for school information and other ways to support our school. If you are looking to volunteer at Archer Glen this year, please sign up using the link shared here. If you are new to Archer Glen you will need to create a new login. Past volunteers can use their old sign in. (Please note that this link does not work well on your phone so you will need to use another device).
ALL parents will need to fill out their information again as the system gets updated each fall. The registration will ask some questions about volunteer preferences, please still answer the questions and select all activities you might be interested in learning more about!
You can find out more information about how to sign up for volunteer opportunities at Archer Glen using HelpCounter by visiting Archer Glen PAC's Instagram handle here.
