Dear Parents and Carers,
It’s hard to believe we’ve reached the final newsletter of the academic year. I am unsure of where the time has gone this year, it has flown by!
As always, the last week of term has been full of excitement, celebration and emotion as we say goodbye to our wonderful Year 6 cohort and key members of our staff and bring the school year to a close.
This Week
Transition
On Monday and Tuesday, our Year 6 pupils, who will be attending Carleton High School and The King’s School, had their final transition days. These experiences were extremely positive, and our pupils represented Larks Hill brilliantly in their new settings.
While this took place, we held our whole school transition morning, including a Stay and Play session for our new Reception starters. All pupils met their new teachers and spent time in their new classrooms, and the morning was a great success in helping to prepare everyone for a smooth start in September.

And Finally...
Finally, as we close the 2024–2025 academic year today, we say are saying a fond farewell not only to our Year 6 pupils, but also to several valued members of staff.
Mrs Turner, one of our HLTAs, has secured a teaching post and will be leaving us to take up her new position in September. I thank her for all her support over the last few years and wish her all the best in her new role.
Miss Kaye, a part-time learning support assistant in Year 3, is also leaving us to move to The Rookeries to take up a full-time position. Even though Miss Kaye has only been with us a short time, she has made such an impact with the staff and pupils and will be missed. I wish her all the best as she moves into her new school.
As many already know, Mrs Nortcliffe is also leaving us today. For those who have had children taught by Mrs Nortcliffe, you will know what a fantastic teacher she is. Over the years she has been at Larks Hill, she has led phonics to an exceptional level and her teaching in class can only be described as outstanding. Mrs Nortcliffe leaves us today to move to a new school where she is slightly reducing her working hours to fit into her family commitments. I wish her the absolute best and know that she will continue to provide her pupils with exceptional care and teaching. She will be missed.

I have been quite overwhelmed with the kind words, the best wishes and generous gifts that I have received in the last week and feel extremely privileged to have worked alongside you, serving this wonderful school and community.
I hope that you all have a wonderful summer with your families and look forward to seeing you again sometime in the future.
Yours sincerely,
Mrs Adams
