King's Highway Families,

Pink Fridays in October: Show your school spirit and support as we honor awareness this month by wearing PINK every Friday throughout October.

Picture Day: Picture Day is Friday, October 9! Be sure to send your child to school ready to smile for their school picture.

Thank you for helping us celebrate these special events and build a positive school community!

Clubs

We are excited to launch several student clubs this week! These opportunities give students a chance to explore their interests, build friendships, develop leadership skills, and connect with peers outside of the regular school day. Participation in clubs helps students discover new talents, strengthen their sense of belonging, and have fun while learning something new. Our Crochet Club will introduce students to basic stitching techniques and creative project-making while encouraging patience, focus, and creativity. Safety Club members will take an active role in promoting safe practices throughout our school community while developing responsibility, leadership, and teamwork skills. Students participating in STEM Club will engage in hands-on activities that encourage problem-solving, innovation, and curiosity through science, technology, engineering, and mathematics challenges. Our Student Council members will have opportunities to represent their classmates, develop leadership skills, support school events, and help make a positive impact on our school community.

We are proud to offer these opportunities for students to get involved, try something new, and grow beyond the classroom. Whether students are creating, leading, inventing, or serving others, there is something for everyone. Be on the lookout for additional information regarding meeting dates, times, and participation details from your child's teacher or club advisor. We look forward to a great year of student involvement and engagement!

Otis Spunkmeyer & Holiday Wrapping Paper Fundraiser — Last Day!

Today is the last day to place orders for our Otis Spunkmeyer and Holiday Wrapping Paper Fundraiser! All students received a packet to take home, so there is still time to get your orders in.

Thank you to everyone who has participated and supported the fundraiser! The money raised helps the PTO provide fun experiences and extras for our students and teachers throughout the year, including Fun Days, teacher appreciation, and other school activities.

We have raised over $12,000 so far!

PBIS PBIS

We are excited to introduce a new PBIS reward opportunity beginning this week! Students earn PBIS points throughout the school day by demonstrating our school-wide expectations and making positive choices. These points can then be traded in for special rewards and experiences. Our newest reward, PBIS Related Arts, allows students to trade in points for extra time in their favorite special area classes, such as Art, Music, Physical Education, Library, or STEM. This exciting opportunity celebrates positive behavior while giving students additional time to engage in activities they enjoy most.

Families can stay connected to their child's PBIS progress through the Connected Guardians app, where they can viewpoints earned and see the rewards and experiences their child has chosen to trade points for. We encourage families to celebrate these positive accomplishments with their students at home!

As always, we welcome volunteers and community members who want to support our school. Have a fun idea for a special PBIS trade-in event or student reward experience? We'd love to hear it! Please reach out to Mr. Graham to get a plan started. Together, we can continue creating memorable experiences that recognize and celebrate our students' success.

Attendance Matters Attendance Matters

Every school day counts! When students attend school regularly, they build strong academic habits, develop meaningful relationships, and stay connected to their learning community. At Coatesville Area School District, we encourage families to make attendance a priority whenever possible, as even a few missed days can result in important missed learning opportunities. Consistent attendance helps students grow academically, socially, and emotionally while setting the foundation for long-term success.

If your child will be absent, please notify the school office as soon as possible on the day of the absence. Upon your child's return, send a written excuse within three school days so the absence can be properly documented. Thank you for partnering with us to ensure your child is present, engaged, and ready to learn each day. Together, we can make every school day count!
