Broadmoor's WeeklyWildcat News!November 17, 2024

Dear BES Families,

It's American Education Week! Please take a moment to thank the school adults in your child's life...it may be their teacher, an aide, or anyone! A note of gratitude goes a long way in our staff's hearts! We have such a wonderful staff at BES, I am truly thankful for everyone on our Broadmoor team!

On November 26th, we will be hosting An Afternoon of Gratitude for our community senior citizens. Please share the information below with the senior citizens in your life! It is a free event and each grade level will sing a few songs to our seniors. This is not open to families, as we won't have enough room or refreshments for everyone! If you can help donate refreshments, we have a sign-up below.

Thank you to Miss Reynolds, Mrs. Moore, and Mr. Tiedemann for their wonderful job at the Veterans Day Concert! It is such a wonderful tradition each year and the students did an amazing job.

We had such a busy week - check out the Wildcat Gallery below!

Have a great week!

Cindy Apple, Principal

American Education Week is November 18-22nd. This annual event is an opportunity to show our fantastic Teachers and Staff how much we appreciate them!

This year, the PTO would like our students and families to be involved! Please write appreciation notes, or draw pictures of what you love the most about your favorite Teachers and Staff. On 'Thankful Tuesday', November 19th: please bring those notes, pictures, or cards to school, and give them to your favorite Teachers and Staff!

Seasonal Support Newsletter

Believe it or not, cold weather and the holiday season are fast approaching. We wanted to share with you some free resources for winter coats, Thanksgiving meal baskets and Christmas gifts (Christmas gift program is for Louisburg children birth to 18). There are deadlines to each that, again, as far away as they seem, will be here in no time. The added expense of winter coats and holiday costs can be a heavy burden. If your family could benefit from a little extra support to ease that burden, then we hope these resources will do just that! Please see our newsletter to learn about some wonderful resources! Mindset Minute

In November we will be focusing on the mindset, Attitude of Gratitude, which focuses on seeking the positives from every experience and being thankful for all you have. We will be talking about treasuring yourself, being more grateful, thanking it forward and elevating your perspective. We will be showing our gratitude to local senior citizens by inviting them to 'An Afternoon of Gratitude' where we will share our time, talents and afternoon treats with them.

Attendance and School Calendars Attendance and School Calendars

Receive an Attendance Email from School?

If you receive an attendance letter from school, it is meant to inform you of your student's absences or tardies. This way you can also keep track of the days gone and how to plan ahead to

miss fewer days.

Please take note of our school calendars when planning your family's vacations.

Attendance is a focus at BES and we want your children at school! It can be very difficult for students to get caught up sometimes when they miss for extended periods of time. For example, when a student misses a week of school, that is up to 450 minutes of math instruction they are missing!

If your family does have a trip planned, we do not provide lessons or materials ahead of those trips. Teachers will work with you to schedule times when your student can be given that instruction and guided work time to ensure mastery of skills. This may have to happen before or after school, but we will also try to work during the school day as well.

GREAT school habits now help prepare students for future success!

Thank you to Mrs. Bonnie Barrett for helping us with our Perfect Attendance prizes! She donated popcorn and attendance stickers for the students. We had 88 who earned this recognition. Great job! Even Mrs. Apple didn't have perfect attendance first quarter, way to go Wildcats!
