Term 4 Issue 14 23rd October 2025
NOONGAR SEASON OF KAMBARANG (OCT-NOV)
PRINCIPAL'S POST
Dear Families and Caregivers,
Thank you to all the volunteers and amazing helpers who were on hand to celebrate St Francis Feast Day on Friday. From the Mass, to Mission Fete and finishing with the P&F Colour Run, it was a wonderful way to commemorate our patron Saint. A big thanks to Mrs Kavanagh for her coordination of our mass and Father Darek for taking the time to celebrate with us. Thank you also to the P&F Executive Committee and their band of volunteers who made the colour run such a success.
SCHOOL ADVISORY COUNCIL 2026
At the conclusion of 2025, we have two members of our School Advisory Council (SAC) stepping down, Mr Craig Grantham (Treasurer) and Mrs Stephenie Kunder (P&F Rep). To date, there have been two nominations received therefore, unless additional nominations are received there will not be a need for an election at the Annual Community Meeting in November and the two nominations will be elected unopposed. However, should you wish to nominate for a position on the SAC in 2026, please email me jason.baker@cewa.edu.au. We will thank and farewell both Craig the concluding SAC members at the ACM.
P&F COMMITTEE 2026
The P&F Committee is also seeking a new member to join their executive in 2026 as Mrs Erin Hawes steps down as Secretary. Again, we have had one nomination to join the P&F Executive Committee. Should there be no further nominations, the person will be appointed unopposed at the upcoming Annual Community Meeting in November. However, should you wish to nominate yourself to the position of executive member, please email me at jason.baker@cewa.edu.au We will farewell and thank Erin for her contribution at the ACM.
YEAR 6 CAMP
We wish our Year 6 children well as they embark on one of the great primary school memories, Year 6 Camp. This year, the children will be visiting Ern Halliday Recreation Camp from Wednesday 29th October through to Friday 31st October. Thank you to Mr Gorman, Mrs Bond, Mr Clarke, Mr Rebeiro and Nurse Kym for giving up time with their families to support this experience for our Year 6's. We look forward to some great weather and a lot of fun.
INTERSCHOOL CARNIVAL
Today, a number of children across the school competed in the Interschool Athletics Carnival at Kingsway Sporting Complex. Congratulations to all the children who were selected to compete and thank you to Mr Rebeiro for coordinating the day. Thanks to our parent volunteers who also supported our children.
The term is moving quickly with almost two weeks down. There are some significant events throughout this term so please familiarise yourself with them through the live calendar.
The NBA Basketball season kicked off with opening night yesterday! So many unanswered questions, 'Will OKC go back to back?' 'Can Shai win another MVP?' 'Will this be Lebron's last season?' 'Will Mr Baker ever stop waffling about sport in the newsletter?' While for the cricket fans, start your Ashes prep early with the 'Howie Games - Ashes Diary'. A recommended podcast listen for any tragics out there like me.
Have a great fortnight ahead.
Best wishes
Jason Baker

ST FRANCIS OF ASSISI FEAST DAY & MISSION FETE
It was so lovely to have so many parents join us in celebrating the life and work of St Francis. A very big thank you to everyone who contributed to our special feast day Mass – Fr Daruis, Altar Servers, Readers, Special Minister & Choir.
The Mission Fete proved once again to be a huge success, raising much needed funds for Wheelchairs 4 Kids. It was great to see the effort from all classes to create such creative stalls.
Thank you to the parents who were able to help out at stalls or walking around with a small group of Kindy or PP children. Thank you to all our families for supporting the Mission Fete through donations AND spending money! With the colour run to end the day, it was a wonderful way to end the first week back of Term Four.
ALL SAINTS DAY
All Saints Day is fast approaching on November 1st. All Saints is the time in the Church's liturgical year where we remember the saints or “hallows,” martyrs of the faith, and all of those Christians who have already passed away and are presumed to be in Heaven. All Saints Day remains a Holy Day of Obligation.
SACRAMENTAL PHOTOS

CHRISTMAS HAMPERS
Our annual Christmas Hamper Appeal will begin in Week 7 on Monday 17th November. Please check upcoming newsletters, SEESAW and Facebook for more details as we get closer to Week 7.
