FRIDAY PLC DELAYED START TIME

Dear Gold Rush Families,

As part of Douglas County School District’s district-wide initiative, all schools will be implementing a delayed start beginning tomorrow to accommodate weekly dedicated time for our staff's Professional Learning Communities (PLCs).

Our schedue tomorrow and all Fridays moving forward is as follows:

9:10 AM – 9:20 AM: Rolling Start

9:20 AM: School Officially Begins

Thank you for adjusting your morning drop-off to ensure students arrive during the rolling start window.

While students have a slightly later start, our Gold Rush teachers and staff will be actively collaborating before school every week. This dedicated time allows our educators to work together to refine instruction and ensure every student gets exactly what they need to thrive.

During our morning PLC time, our staff will continuously focus on four fundamental questions:

1. What do we want students to know and be able to do?

   Setting clear, high expectations for learning targets and core skills across every grade level.

2. How will we know if students have learned the content?

   Designing and analyzing meaningful assessments to track individual student growth and progress.

3. How will we support students in need of intervention?

   Identifying students who are struggling early and building targeted support plans to help them succeed.

4. How will we provide intervention for those in need of enrichment?

   Creating challenging opportunities for students who have already mastered the core concepts to extend their learning.
