๐ฐ MESSAGE FROM THE PRINCIPAL
MGES Families,
What a Busy and Positive Week at Maple Glen!
Itโs been a full and exciting week here at Maple Glen! Our students participated in two amazing assemblies, each focused on the theme of Positivityโan important part of our Chipmunk P.R.I.D.E.
This week, our school gathered for a PBIS Assembly where students learned how being positive helps build a stronger, kinder school community.
Friday, we welcomed the Bully-Free BMX Team, who wowed our students with incredible BMX bike stunts while spreading a powerful 5 keys to success.
We are so proud of our students for their engagement and positive energy throughout these experiences, and we extend a big thank you to our PBIS Committee and our Maple Glen PTO for helping make this weekโs assemblies possible!
Warmest regards,
Mr. Perez

๐กHIGHLIGHTS FROM THE GLEN
๐ฒ Innovative Experience: Bully-Free BMX Assembly๐ด๐ปโโ๏ธ
This week, our students had an exciting and inspiring experience as the Bully-Free BMX organization visited Maple Glen! The talented BMX riders amazed everyone with their incredible bike tricks and stuntsโall while delivering a powerful message about kindness, respect, positivity, and standing up against negativity.
Students learned the importance of treating others with care and speaking up to help create a safe, supportive school community.
A huge thank you to our Maple Glen PTO for generously funding this memorable and meaningful assembly!
๐ฃPBIS Assembly
PBIS Assembly โ Focus on Positivity
This week, our school community came together for our first PBIS Assembly of the year, where we focused on Positivity! Being positive is an important part of our Chipmunk P.R.I.D.E., and the โPโ reminds us to be Positive in our words and actions. Students learned about different ways to show positivity toward classmates, teachers, and all members of our school community.
A special highlight of the assembly was a group of amazing fifth graders who shared The Magical Yet by Angela DiTerlizzi, helping us see how a positive mindset can help us overcome challenges and keep growing.
We want to thank our dedicated PBIS Committee and our fifth-grade students for leading the way and helping all of us be a little more Positive every day!
๐ SCHOOL ANNOUNCEMENTS
๐งก CELEBRATING UNITY DAY
On October 22, all UDSD elementary schools will recognize Unity Day, a national event that promotes kindness, acceptance, and inclusion. Students are invited to wear orangeโa bright, visible color to symbolize that kindness and connection make our schools stronger.
Maple Glen Book Fair
Parents - It's almost time for the 2025 Maple Glen Book Fair! This year's fair will be held from October 21-October 25. Your children will visit the fair during their regular library hours. If your child is absent during their scheduled time, please send them in with their money the following day. I will ensure they get a chance to visit.
The Book Fair will be open for parents on Thursday, October 23rd from 5pm to 7pm in the library. Feel free to contact Mr. Meyer if you have any questions - tmeyer@udsd.org.
Maple Glen Elementary is excited to be able to invite families to our annual Halloween Parade!
Get Ready For The MGES Halloween Parade! Our Maple Glen staff is excited to host our Halloween Parade on Friday, October 31, 2025 at 9:30 am! The parade will be held outside in our B-wing playground area and the front of the building.
A Few Important Reminders:
- We kindly ask that ALL costumes are easy to put on and take off, and not gruesome or violent (blood, weapons, etc).
- It is recommended that our younger students wear their costumes to school as long as students are able to comfortably move around in them (masks can only be worn during the parade). Teachers will provide students time to change out of their costumes after the parade.
- In the event of inclement weather, the parade will be canceled. Unfortunately, there is no rain date for this event. Every effort to have a Parade will occur and this call will only be made on Parade Day.
- Thank you in advance for your cooperation as we work to provide our students with a safe and memorable Halloween Parade!
