PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE - Mr. Goodrich
Nederland Middle-Senior HS Community,
Today is a crazy wintery day with snow and heavy wind. Eldora calls a day like today “breezy”. I know it has been a bit of a week this week for the Nederland community and the schools. I would like to let everyone know that I have worked with Caleb for the past three years and he is a strong partner for our local schools. We sit together at every district administrator meeting and we have a very like minded approach to teaching and learning. Caleb is also a very strong advocate for outdoor education. I will be working closely with him over the next few months as he transitions into his new position.
Shout Out to the Nederland Lions Club
Each year we continue a partnership with the local Lions Club. They are a sponsor of the Peace Project art program in the Fall, supporting 6th grade art students at Nederland. In the late fall and winter, they sponsor a public speaking Youth Speech Contest. This year’s Nederland student winners are freshman, Misty Evanson and Evelyne Stanton. In the Spring, the Lions Club provides tokens of appreciation and cash prizes at our Senior Banquet prior to graduation. Thanks for your support Lions Club!

SAT/PSAT Testing Guides: State testing planning for April is underway. Recently Ms. Jill met with high school students to talk about the upcoming exams. The PSAT prepares students in the 09th and 10th grades to take a future SAT. SAT stands for Scholastic Assessment Test. It's a standardized test that measures a student's readiness for college. In 11th grade students will take an April SAT. The SAT is widely used for college admissions in the United States. Students at Nederland High are already registered, and their April exam cost is covered. These exams will occur the week of April 14th (dates and time details to follow). Parents can find more about the exam information on the College Board website. Student study guides are available or students can practice skills through their Bluebook app or Khan Academy.
