Principal Message
Dear Explorer Families,
I can’t believe it is already October!
Today’s Fun Run was amazing! Our students had so much fun running and playing on our new turf. Thank you to all of the volunteers who helped make this such a wonderful day. We are grateful for your time and support!
Our students have been working hard, and they will be taking their Aimsweb assessments next week. Thank you for continuing to support their learning and growth at home.

Vocabulary Day – October 30
We are excited to celebrate our first-ever Vocabulary Day on October 30! Students are invited to wear a costume that represents a vocabulary word.
Here are some ideas:
Pajamas- Exhausted, Sleepy
Princess Costume- Enchanted, Majestic
Wearing all one color- Monochrome
Superhero Costume- Brave, Courageous
Use your imagination! We can't wait to see all the different vocabulary words you come up with!👨🚀
Please remember:
- Costumes and vocabulary words must be school appropriate.
- Students should arrive at school wearing their costumes.
- Each student should have a sign displaying their vocabulary word and be prepared to explain its definition.
- The word sign may be attached to the costume or worn on a string around the student’s neck.
Counselor Corner
September was a busy and productive month. Counselors visited each and every classroom at least twice to introduce ourselves and to teach lessons on bullying.
Did you know it typically takes students approximately 6 weeks to adjust to being back in school with a new teacher and different classmates? And, it takes 21 days to form a new habit! We have been working hard at DEE as we get back into the swing of things and move into October.
