South MS Friday Blast
September 11, 2026
While it was a short week at South with the Labor Day holiday, it was a busy one! Tuesday both students and staff put on their best smiles for picture day. Retakes are schedule for October 20th if your student missed this opportunity. Following picture day was Spirit Day where the Hawaiian theme could be seen throughout the building. Check out the photos below! We wrapped up the week with an extra Spirit Day where students and staff had the chance to show their patriotic side with red, white, and blue in remembrance of September 11th. It was also a special day with the PBIS Kick-Off event lunches. Students were able to enjoy a slice of pizza, soft pretzel, and cotton candy using their earned rewards for positive behavior. Kona Ice was available for purchase as students enjoy an extended lunch period. The day concluded with a Pep-Rally. It was a great way to welcome in the start of the weekend. See you next week back at South!

Coding Club
After-School Coding will begin the week of SEPTEMBER 17th, with open enrollment at any time during the school year. All students are welcome, especially girls! Girls Who Code offers incentives to all the ladies who join our club! No coding experience is necessary. We have plenty of tools to work with for fun coding and STEM challenges. Students are self-directed and can create, learn, or code in languages of their choosing. We meet every TUESDAY after school. Information and permission slips are outside Room 112 South, or you can access a copy here. Contact Celise Hall-Huber at chall-huber@pennridge.org if you have any questions. NERDS RULE!
Calling Home
We often have students who need to call home about forgotten items, changes in after-school plans, or other important matters. Surprisingly, many students do not know their parents' phone numbers by memory. Taking a few minutes to review your phone number with your child can make a big difference when they need to reach you during the school day.
As another option, consider writing your phone number in your child's agenda so it is easily accessible when needed. Having this information readily available allows students to quickly and independently contact home, helping us ensure communication is efficient and timely when situations arise.
Thank you for taking the time to help your child be prepared and connected throughout the school day.
RAM Packs
Dear South Families,
Below under our Quick Links section, you will find information about the Ram Packs program, along with the form to complete if you wish for your child(ren) to receive a Ram Pack. Please note that you must fill out a new form each school year. If you have two or more children at South Middle School, please fill out a form for each child. You may print or scan the completed form or request a form(s) to be sent home with your child.
Please contact Ms. Laura Russo, School Counselor, with any questions at lrusso@pennridge.org.
Thank you.
From Nursing -
