Each year, our district has the opportunity to receive federal Impact Aid funding that directly supports educational programs and services for all students. These funds help us maintain high-quality learning experiences, update resources, and provide essential supports across our schools.

Every family received a ParentSquare message with an Impact Aid form attached, and we need your help to reach our goal of 100% of forms submitted this year! It only takes a few minutes to complete your Impact Aid form on ParentSquare.

This September, Reading Is Fundamental (RIF), in partnership with Amazon, donated 200 literacy kits to 200 schools nationwide and our school had the wonderful opportunity to take part in a nationwide distribution of Literacy Kits for our students.

Reading Is Fundamental (RIF) connects children with the joy of reading to spark imaginations and possibilities, putting kids on a path of reading proficiency. Because every child deserves the chance to succeed.

We were thrilled to distribute Literacy Kits to our Kindergarten and 1st Grade students last week. They’re so excited to share their new books with their families. Thank you for making this possible!

When your student will be late, leaving early, or absent altogether, please notify the office. If the Tardy, Early Release or Absence is due to an appointment, please bring a note from the doctor's office.

Resources Including Free and Reduced-Price Meal Benefits for Families Affected by the Government Shutdown

Due to the federal government shutdown, households of furloughed employees may be eligible for free or reduced-price meal benefits. A furlough is a unique situation where households may not have information on the duration of the furlough or the ultimate impact on the household income. While free or reduced-price meal eligibility is intended to reflect actual annual income, applications may reflect the current household situation. Families whose household income has been impacted by the government shutdown are encouraged to apply for free/reduced-price meal benefits for their student(s). Information on completing the application form can be found on the district's website here. Should the economic hardship due to the furlough be remedied, families whose applications were approved should terminate or update their free/reduced price status. Please reach out to studentnutrition@steilacoom.k12.wa.us if you have questions or need additional assistance.
