February Parent Events

Join us on Saturday, February 25, 2023 at 9:30am for our next AAC Out & About. We will gather at Westside Elementary School Cafeteria for a really fun Lego activity by Snapology! Prior registration is required and there is a fee for this event. (AAC students are $9 if you use their student ID# as their coupon code. Siblings are $20 and parents are free). We will have the following sessions from 6:00 -7:30pm at Reed Elementary School:

• Behavior at Home: Our behavior specialists will be discussing ways for you to have consistent responses to behavior at home. They'll also review tips for holding the demand, natural consequences, de-escalation and controlled choices.
• STAAR Talk: Amanda Silkett and Lisa Robertson will be discussing State Assessment Decision Making (STAAR vs. STAAR Alt 2)
• Prompts, Prompts, Prompts: Our team will be reviewing the purpose and uses of prompts at home. They'll also discuss tools to begin fading prompts to help foster independence in various settings.

There will be childcare available for children 5th grade and under. You must register your child for childcare. Childcare Reservations will close Monday, February 13th or sooner if slots are filled. If your child is 6th grade and older, they are encouraged to learn alongside you during the Family Education Night.
