A message from Mr. Rose

Welcoming the Fall Season at Wilson Elementary School District

As the crisp air of fall settles in, we are excited to kick off the new season with our much-anticipated Annual Fall Festival. This event is always a highlight for our students, families, and staff, providing an opportunity for the entire Wilson Elementary School District community to come together and celebrate. The festival will feature fun activities, games, delicious food, and an array of fall-themed entertainment, making it an event that everyone will enjoy. We encourage all families to join us for this special occasion, as it’s a wonderful way to celebrate the new season and strengthen the bonds within our school community.

In addition to celebrating the start of the fall season, I would like to take a moment to recognize the incredible dedication and hard work of one of our most valued team members, Yvette Duarte from our Food Services Department. Yvette has been a vital part of the Wilson family for over 40 years, serving our students with unwavering commitment. Her tireless work in ensuring that every child is well-fed and cared for has made a tremendous impact on the lives of so many.

Beyond her role in food services, Yvette has always been willing to assist the Wilson team wherever she can. Her dedication to our students and her flexibility in supporting the district in various capacities truly embodies the spirit of teamwork and service. We are so fortunate to have Yvette as part of our Wilson community, and her contributions over the decades have not gone unnoticed.

As we embrace the beauty of fall and come together for the Annual Fall Festival, let’s take a moment to appreciate the hard work of individuals like Yvette Duarte who continue to make Wilson Elementary School District a great place for our students to learn and grow.

We look forward to seeing you at the festival and celebrating all that makes Wilson special!

Sincerely,
Ernest Rose

Welcome back to the second quarter! We hope you had a restful break and ready to attack the busiest quarter of the year with family events and school activities. We have our quarterly assemblies and Health Week coming up next week. We are excited to celebrate the students who have accomplished so much during the 1st quarter. Students will learn about healthy eating habits and positive mindset during the Health Week. At the end of the month, we will be having our annual Costume Parade on October 31st from 8:30 at the Primary School. School appropriate costumes are encouraged. Families and friends are encouraged to cheer the students as they walk the block around our campus. Please continue to check the website and flyers that will be going home for all the events that will be occurring this quarter!

Wilson Elementary School

We have entered the 2nd quarter of the year. Our first quarter flew by and now finally enjoying the cooler weather. This quarter is always a busy one with lots of learning and fall events. Right before we left for fall break, the Elementary School had our second assembly of the year. We celebrated our 8th grade math teacher, Alex Pina, as our October One in a Million Teacher! Mr. Pina’s class showered him with cheers and personalized dollars as he walked down the “Green” carpet. We also had a fun game of tug-of-war with the class representatives. It was great to see everyone cheering each group. Our fall athletes were recognized at the assembly. Each player and coach in boys soccer, girls soccer, girls volleyball, and cross country were recognized. Although the games had a slow start due to excessive heat, the players have been practicing and are in great school spirits! Good luck to all athletes and coaches representing Wilson!

Human Resources

Dear Team,

We hope you had a restful and rejuvenating fall break! As we head into the winter season, remember to prioritize self-care and find moments to relax and recharge. How do you reset and find time to relax? How do you make space for laughter? When we focus on nurturing our own joy, we can spread that positivity to those around us. Speaking of joy, it has been a true pleasure to offer the amazing AIU Scholarship opportunity to such a wonderful group of individuals. A big thank you to everyone who submitted applications for the AIU Scholarship Opportunity—our panel is enjoying reading your thoughtful essays. Family and well-being are key, so don't hesitate to reach out for support when needed. Together, we make challenges easier to overcome—teamwork truly makes all the difference. As we stay focused on becoming an A-rated school, let’s not forget we’re on this road trip together! We truly need one another, and together, we make each other better. If HR can offer any help or support along the way, please don’t hesitate to reach out—we’re here for you.

Sincerely,

Jevon Lewis, HR Director

Embracing Fall, Building Community

Fall is Here! As the leaves change and the temperatures cool finally, we are excited to share some wonderful updates and upcoming events that will bring our community together this season. As the fall season approaches, there’s something magical about how our community comes together to support one another. This time of year, is not just about celebrations and festivities, but also about generosity, kindness, and unity.

At Wilson Community Center, we witness the power of our community every day, but it shines especially bright during the holidays. Families, neighbors, and local organizations join together to ensure no one is left behind. Whether through donations to our food pantry, volunteering to help with holiday events, or simply offering a helping hand to those in need, the spirit of giving is alive and well.

This upcoming season, we invite everyone to contribute in their way, big or small. Together, we can make a difference—providing warmth, food, and support to those facing challenging times. Let’s remember that the true spirit of the holidays isn’t found in gifts or decorations, but in the love and care we show one another.

Whether you’re donating a warm meal, lending your time, or simply spreading joy through acts of kindness, every effort counts. When we come together as a community, we create a ripple effect of hope that carries us all into a brighter tomorrow.

As we look forward to the season, we extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who makes this community so special. Let’s continue to support one another and make this a season to remember.
