Cockrell Champion Families...Happy Thursday!
We hope you are having a wonderful week! I have been informed by multiple people that our emails are no longer on the website and have been hard to find. I am so sorry about this! Mrs. Gee and I were not aware of this change, and we did not intentionally remove them. Please accept our apologies as we love direct correspondence with our Cockrell families, and again, were unaware of this change. (We always encourage the first line of communication to go to our teachers- as this is the first step in problem solving, but we are also here as well!)
Principal: Natalie Gasmire: nsgasmire@prosper-isd.net
Assistant Principal: Shelby Gee: scgee@prosper-isd.net
Counselor: Katie Henry: klhenry@prosper-isd.net
A few reminders:
No visitors for lunch until the Tuesday after Labor Day so our kiddos can learn routines and connect with those around them.
You will always need your ID (and any visitors coming with you) when coming to campus.
If you have questions about your child's bus, follow the link on Gasmire's Good News regarding PISD transportation questions.
If you need to make changes to your child's dismissal, we ask that this is not an all the time thing so that our kids can get into a routine. However, we understand life happens and plans change. Please contact the front office for dismissal changes, not your child's teacher, as they are busy with our kiddos and not readily checking email during the school hours.
We love this place and we deeply value our partnership with you. Thank you for trusting us!

Hope Squad
Support Cockrell Hope Squad
We are thrilled to kick off the new school year with our district’s “Be Kind” shirts and sweatshirts! Orders will be processed monthly throughout the school year, so there’s no need to wait to place your order! The more shirts our campus sells, the more resources our Hope Squad will have to support and encourage our students throughout the year.
Thank you so much for supporting our campus, spreading kindness, and helping us make a difference!

Attendance Change for Absences
Attendance Changes for 2026-2027
Doctor’s notes or other supporting documentation for an absence, may be submitted by completing the online Attendance Note Submission form and uploading your documentation within the form. Student's 8-digit ID numbers are required in order to complete the form, and may be found in Skyward Family Access. This process applies to both full-day and partial-day absences. Please note that a parent notification submitted through Skyward Family Access regarding a doctor's visit does not qualify as a doctor's note.
Prospering Promise Partners
We’re looking for caring, committed adults to serve as mentors to Prosper ISD students. You don’t need to be a counselor or expert—just someone willing to listen, encourage, and show up consistently. Mentors meet with students on campus during the school day in a structured, supportive environment.
As a mentor, you’ll help students feel seen, supported, and inspired to grow into the confident, resilient leaders of tomorrow. We provide all the training and tools—you bring your time and heart. All applicants must complete and pass a Prosper ISD Volunteer Background Check.
Volunteer mentors will:
Meet with students monthly, during the school day, for 30 minutes
Build positive relationships rooted in trust and respect
Serve as role models and champions for student success
Help students develop confidence, character, and connection
Questions: Email studentservices@prosper-isd.net or visit the Prosper ISD Mentoring Website.
Complete the Prosper ISD Mentoring Application.
Note: Applying does not guarantee placement. Mentors will be matched based on student need and compatibility.

Back to School Transportation Information
To enhance student safety and accountability, all Prosper ISD bus riders in grades PK–12 will be required to have and use a Bus Rider ID Badge for transportation services.
Each badge contains RFID technology that helps us:
Confirm students are boarding the correct bus.
Improve rider accountability.
Assist with student location verification during transportation operations.
Support campus and parent inquiries.
Enhance emergency response capabilities.
Improve overall student safety.
What Parents Need to Know
Students should bring their Bus Rider ID Badge to school each day.
Students will scan their badge when boarding and exiting the bus.
If a badge is lost or damaged, please notify your campus as soon as possible.
Additional information regarding replacement badges will be shared by the campus.
The Bus Rider ID Badge program is designed to provide an added layer of safety and accountability while helping us better serve students and families.
