Reminders & Updates
Scholastic Book Fair & Trailers
The Scholastic book fair will begin this Tuesday (3/3) & be open through the following week, including the evenings of conferences. To help get our students excited to shop the fair, there is a 10 minute video of book trailers that highlight some of the books that will be here.
Advisory teachers, please show these videos to your advisory class one morning this week. (FYI: If the Scholastic site gives you any issues, the refresh button always fixes it for me.) Book fair fliers will be in your box by the end of the day on Monday. You could wait & pass those out the same day you show the trailers, if you'd like.
All teachers -- Swing by the book fair & fill out a "Wish List Slip" or two (or more!) to hang up on your team's board. Some students get more excited about purchasing a book for their favorite teacher's classroom than they do for themselves! This gets you books in your classrooms & every purchase helps the library.
The book fair is the library's fundraiser--so thank you for your support & help getting our students excited to visit!

Instructional Tip of the Week
Fluency improves comprehension, and struggling readers benefit from hearing text read fluently first. Here are practices that can be used in any class on any day to support reading fluency:
- Repeated reading of short, complex passages
- Partner reading (stronger reader models first)
- Echo reading (teacher reads, students repeat)
- Choral reading for key sections
Time to Celebrate
Shout Outs
Thank you to Brittni Helms for her hard work and dedication to supporting our students and families. Happy National School Social Worker Week!
Shout out to our Weekly Warrior, Molly Haywood, who received the sword from Jeff Taylor.
Thank you again to Mrs. Haywood, Mrs. Morrison, and Mrs. Martens, as well as to our amazing students, for presenting at the School Board luncheon and making it a success. Also, Mrs. Granata did a great job organizing the Author Visit...as always!
