Please be reminded that the district will be closed this coming Monday and Tuesday in honor of Presidents’ Day. I hope this extended break provides our students and staff with a well-deserved opportunity to rest, recharge, and spend time with loved ones.

Additionally, as tomorrow is February 14th, I want to wish everyone a very Happy Valentine’s Day. It is a wonderful reminder to appreciate the kindness and support we share within our school community every day.

Congratulations to Sophia Bobrowsky on making Cedar Grove High School history as the first National Honor Society student, in records dating back to 2012, to receive the prestigious NHS Scholarship. Sophia has been named a National Semifinalist, an honor awarded to exceptional student leaders who exemplify the core pillars of the National Honor Society: scholarship, service, leadership, and character.

The NHS Scholarship program, administered by NASSP, recognizes students nationwide for their academic excellence, dedication to service, and leadership impact. Sophia’s achievement reflects not only her hard work and commitment, but also the spirit of excellence fostered within Cedar Grove High School’s NHS chapter. We are incredibly proud of her success and excited to see all she will accomplish in the future.

Our Model UN students attended their very first conference last weekend, participating in the two-day SHUMUN XXVII conference at Seton Hall. Throughout the event, students took on the roles of international delegates, engaging in debate, collaboration, and problem-solving as they worked to address complex global issues. The conference provided an exciting opportunity for our students to develop their public speaking, research, and diplomacy skills while connecting with peers from other schools.

Congratulations to Alayna Athar for earning the Outstanding Position Paper award. This is an impressive achievement and a wonderful recognition of her hard work and preparation. We are incredibly proud of all our students for representing our school with enthusiasm and professionalism.
