KEWASKUM DISTRICT NEWS

MESSAGE FROM THE DISTRICT ADMINISTRATOR
Finishing the Year Strong
As we step into April, the signs of spring are all around us—longer days, warmer weather, and a renewed energy in our schools. This is also a crucial time for our students as they work hard to finish the school year strong. With just a few months left, we encourage families to continue supporting their children in staying engaged, motivated, and prepared for success.
Here are a few ways families can help their children maintain momentum during these final months:
Set Goals & Celebrate Progress – Encourage your child to set short-term goals for finishing strong. Whether it's improving a grade, completing a project, or preparing for an assessment. After they accomplish a goal, make sure to take time to celebrate the small wins along the way because it can build motivation.
Prioritize Rest & Wellness – Sleep, nutrition, and physical activity play a big role in academic performance. Encouraging healthy habits will help students stay alert and engaged in their learning. Set aside some “non-technology” time to go outside for a walk or play a board game.
Stay Engaged with Teachers & Schools – Open communication with teachers can provide valuable insights into your child’s progress. Don’t hesitate to reach out with questions or concerns and take advantage of any school-offered resources.
Be Aware of Important Dates – Spring is a busy time with assessments, performances, and end-of-year activities. Keeping track of these events can help families plan ahead and ensure students are prepared. Each month we send out district and building-level newsletters. Make sure to check the important dates and put them on your calendar.
Our students have accomplished so much this year, and I am confident they will continue to thrive as we close out the school year. Let’s work together to ensure a strong and successful finish!
