State Cross Country Qualifier
Congratulations to Senior Trenten Summers for qualifying for the State Cross Country Meet which will take place in Colorado Springs on Saturday, October 31st.
Quarter One 9th Grade Incentive
This week we look forward to recognizing students in all grades who are nominated by our staff members for displaying our Social Contract trait of 'Desiring Success.'
Donations to Support Incentive Program
We would like to extend a special thank you to the DHS Alumni Association and Vista Ford Delta for their donations to support our incentive and recognition program. Previously funding for our incentive and recognition efforts had come from several grants, but those grants are no longer available so we are grateful to be able to continue this due to these types of generous donations.

Station 34
Did you know the DHS Life Skills classes have an open restaurant every Thursday for the DHS Staff and invited community members. This is something that Mrs. Bond's Life Skills students have been doing for over ten years. This past summer new industrial kitchen equipment was installed which has allowed them to improve their production time and expand their menu. Students create the menu for the week, search for recipes, shop for ingredients, prep and serve the food, as well as manage the finances just as any normal restaurant would do. It truly is an incredible learning opportunity for these students. We want to thank Mrs. Bond and each of our paraprofessionals for providing this outstanding opportunity for our students.
General Information
Phone Issues
Last week there were several days where our telephone system was inoperable. Our technology department has worked diligently to restore service, but the issue is beyond their control. If you call and are unable to get through, the best way to reach us is via email. For attendance related matters please send an email to jeannette.sanchez@deltaschools.com. A full staff directory is available at https://dhs.deltaschools.com/en-US/staff.
Panorama Student Perception Survey - October 27th
The Panorama Student Perception Survey will be administered to all DHS students on Tuesday, October 27th. This is a survey that we have administered for the last 10+ years and it helps us gain valuable insight into the perception of our school and our teachers from students' perspectives. To view the complete list of questions, click here.
Academic Support
As we pass the halfway point in the semester it is important that students continue to work hard and keep track of grades. If students are struggling with a specific class they are encouraged to reach out to their teachers for support. Many of our teachers are available before or after school or during lunch to meet with students to provide additional support.
Math tutoring is also available during both lunches on Tuesday and Thursday with retired teacher, Mr. Richard Hypio. Students can drop in as needed and no appointment is necessary.
Students in Mrs. Parkerson's class get extra help during lunch.
Blood Drive @ DHS - October 30th
The Vitalant bus will be parked in the DHS student parking on Friday, October 30th from 9:00-1:30. All members of the public are invited to donate and should preregister here. Students must bring the Parent Permission Form with them in order to donate.
