Enumclaw High School
Monday Memo - October 6, 2025
Kudos to....
- Jenny Pugh for her work to help the student section to cheer appropriately and loudly at the volleyball game on Thursday. Thanks to Rob Lightbody for leading the wave.
- Estela Morgan for managing the Counseling Office from Monday through Wednesday while the counselors attended a conference.
- Kim Hatzenbeler for organizing the student and staff CARES recognition.
- Tyler McCarthy for being super helpful this year with sharing information and ideas for environmental biology with his science team. He is willing to share feedback with his team and opens up his classroom so that other teachers can observe and get ideas for their own classes.
- Lindsey Duerre for working extremely on the Science Department's physics units. Ms. Duerre is also incredibly helpful and knowledgeable. She has helped her colleagues figure out how to use Skyward, print classroom lists, and how to make taking attendance a breeze.
Grayson McKoon for his dedication to our students through his work as a coach, CTE Para, and helping keep order at football games!
English and World Language teachers for allowing Ms. Goucher's Pre-AP students to use their classrooms during their planning periods to record academic conversations. Ms. Goucher shared that It makes it so much easier to listen to their recordings when she can't hear other groups talking in the background. They were lifesavers!
Cole Wychor-Polson, Heather Oliver, and Tandy Schafer for ensuring that over 90% of their students completed onboarding in School Links.

Rod's Random Thoughts
Happy Monday Hornets!
I hope you all had a great weekend and had a chance to rest and recover. It was a mixed back with our local teams. The Huskies had a great comeback, the Mariners lost a close one on Saturday and won a close one on Sunday, and those Seahawks lost a heartbreaker on Sunday. Hopefully every one bounces back this week.
We’re kicking off another exciting week at the high school, and there’s so much to celebrate. Huge kudos to our amazing staff and students who go the extra mile every day—Jenny Pugh and Rob Lightbody brought serious energy to the volleyball game with a loud and spirited student section, Estela Morgan kept the Counseling Office running smoothly while the counseling team attended a conference, and Kim Hatzenbeler made sure our EHS CARES recognition program was a success. Shout out to Tyler McCarthy and Lindsey Duerre for supporting their science teammates with ideas, resources, and encouragement, and to Grayson McKoon for his dedication to students on the field, in the classroom, and at football games. We’ve also got to thank our English and World Language teachers for opening their classrooms for Pre-AP projects, and Cole Wychor-Polson, Heather Oliver, and Tandy Schafer for helping their students stay on track in School Links. Way to go, Hornets—your efforts keep our school community strong!
This week is packed with activities and games, so grab your friends and come show your Hornet pride. From golf and cross country to water polo, volleyball, soccer, and football, there are plenty of chances to cheer on your classmates and make some great memories. Plus, Homecoming tickets go on sale this week—you won’t want to miss out on one of the best traditions of the year. With spirit days, the parade, the football game, and of course the dance, Homecoming is about celebrating who we are as Hornets and coming together as a community.
Remember that Friday there is no school for students. Teachers will be here preparing for next week, but students get an extra day off this week. I hope all the students use the time to rest up and prepare for Homecoming Week at EHS.
That’s all for now. Let’s make it a great week.
