Updated Student Arrival and Dismissal Procedures

Families,

To help ensure the safety and smooth flow of our student arrival and dismissal process, we’re making a few important adjustments. Thank you in advance for your understanding and support!

~Pick-Up and Drop-Off
Families should use the designated lanes on the east side of the school off of Jornada Rd (highlighted in yellow on the map) for both drop-off and pick-up.

~Walkers
Students walking home must exit through the east gate and/or use the crosswalk on Jornada Rd to ensure safety.

~Front Office Parking Lot
Please avoid using the front office lot for drop-off or pick-up. We would like to keep this area reserved for students with disabilities and visitors that are parking to enter campus.

West Side / Blue Gate Access
Moving forward, only staff with ID and school buses will be permitted to enter through the blue gate on the west side or pass beyond the front office parking lot. No parents or walkers will be allowed in this area.

These changes are designed to keep all students safe, and we sincerely appreciate your cooperation and flexibility as we implement them.

Staff Information

Please plan to arrive to campus on time this week, as we will need to lock the gate to the back lot in order to help prevent parent entry into that area.

  • The gates between the front office visitor lot and the back staff parking lot will be locked daily at 8:30 AM.
  • If you need to leave campus during the day, you will still be able to open the gate from the inside to exit. You may do so during your lunch or at other times after you sign out in the front office.

  • At the end of the day, both gates from the back lot will be exit-only —no entrance will be permitted.

At the end of each day, we’ll be identifying students based on how they go home—whether they are:

  • in an after school program

  • bus riders

  • walkers

  • parent pick-up

To help with a smooth dismissal:

  • Walkers and parent pick-up students will be released 3 minutes early.

    • All lunch duty staff and 7th period prep teachers are asked to help guide these students toward the east side of the building. No one will be allowed to head to the west side.

  • Bus riders and after school program participants will be released at the regular bell time.

Your help and presence during this transition make a big difference—Thank you, Thank you, Thank you for supporting a safe and efficient end to the school day.

Please make sure that you update your Online Registration next school year. Families must complete this annually. Thank you!
