THANK YOU FOR SUPPORTING YOUR CHILD'S LEARNING THANK YOU FOR SUPPORTING YOUR CHILD'S LEARNING

A huge thank you to all of our whānau who attended our learning conferences this week. We had an attendance rate of 74%, and we greatly appreciate the time you took to meet with your child's teacher and discuss their learning.

At Vogeltown School, we believe that the best outcomes for children are achieved when students, whānau, and teachers work together. You might think of this as a three-legged stool. Each leg plays an essential role in supporting a child's success. Teachers bring their professional knowledge and understanding of learning, whānau provide knowledge of the child along with encouragement and support at home, and students contribute through their effort, engagement, and willingness to learn. When all three work together, children are in the strongest possible position to thrive.

Learning conferences are an important part of this partnership. They provide an opportunity to celebrate progress, identify next steps, and ensure that everyone is working towards the same goals for each child.

If you were unable to attend, or if the conference has raised further questions, please get in touch with your child's teacher. Open communication between home and school is one of the most powerful ways we can support every learner to experience success.

Thank you for your ongoing partnership and for the important role you play in your child's school experience.

OUR STRATEGIC PLAN... OUR STRATEGIC PLAN...

Our strategic plan sets the direction for Vogeltown School over the next three years. It reflects our shared commitment to ensuring every child experiences success and feels a strong sense of belonging.

The plan is built around four key priorities: Teaching and Learning, Belonging, Engagement, and Leading Through Influence. Together, these priorities guide our decisions, helping us create an environment where high-quality teaching, strong relationships, and continuous improvement are at the heart of everything we do.

Grounded in our values of Manaaki whenua, Manaaki tangata, Haere whakamua, this plan provides a clear roadmap for our future. We look forward to working alongside our students, whānau, staff, and wider community as we bring this vision to life and continue to build a school where every learner can thrive.

THE LEARNING PIT: EMBRACING CHALLENGES THE LEARNING PIT: EMBRACING CHALLENGES

Learning can feel daunting at times, but with perseverance comes the rewarding sense of accomplishment when you finally master something new. This is the essence of The Learning Pit - a concept that highlights how learning happens when we push through challenges.

Great learners understand that success requires effort, that learning isn’t always easy, and that the more we challenge ourselves, the more we achieve!

Want to learn more? Just do an internet search of The Learning Pit to find excellent resources explaining this.

New Plymouth District Council have invited us to take part in the Taranaki Milk Top Challenge!

This challenge is aimed at collecting milk bottle tops and recycling them instead of them going into landfill.

We encourage all tamariki to bring in clean milk bottle tops to the junior or senior office. The schools with the highest weight of milk tops per student will win some great prizes!

Please note we cannot take any other lids - no soft drink / juice lids, or any other bottle lids.

Thank you for your support!

It is important that we know if you have a child starting school sometime in the remainder of this year. This will allow us to put organisation in place for new students - especially for those beginning school, and to understand our predicted roll throughout the year.

You can do this by contacting the office to confirm that we have your child on our records, or by completing an enrolment form (which can be collected from the school or downloaded off our website).

If you know of anyone else living in zone that may be looking to enrol then please share this message with them.
