SENATE BILL 68: NO PERSONAL ELECTRONIC DEVICES AT SCHOOL SENATE BILL 68: NO PERSONAL ELECTRONIC DEVICES AT SCHOOL

Beginning in the 2025–2026 school year, Missouri Senate Bill 68 requires all school districts to adopt a written policy prohibiting student use or display of electronic personal communication devices during the entire school day.

This includes class time, lunch, breaks, hallways, and study halls—from the start of the school day to the end.

An electronic personal communication device includes any portable device used to initiate, receive, store, or view communication, images, or data (like phones, smartwatches, tablets, etc.).

Need to reach your child?
Call the school office—students will not be allowed to text or call during the day.

Your child needs to reach you?
They will call from the school office—students will not be allowed to text or call you during the day.

Students who need devices for educational or health-related reasons (such as an IEP or 504 plan) will have exceptions outlined in the policy.
