The Reading Community City School District Board of Education held a board meeting on Wednesday, June 16, 2021. The district has returned to in-person Board meetings in the Media Center at 810 East Columbia Ave. Meetings are streamed and archived here.
District Curriculum and Communication Update
Director of Curriculum and Communications Dr. Damon Davis delivered his report to the Board and discussed planning for the upcoming school year and future goals related to student learning and district communication. Dr. Davis shared that having a dedicated focus on district curriculum and expanded communications will continue to help RCCSD grow into the future while aligning with the district’s strategic plan.

Summer Jumpstart Learning
The Summer Jumpstart program is part of the district Learning Recovery Plan to help our students make a successful start to the 2021-2022 school year. The program is free. K-8 students across the district are invited to participate for help with English Language Arts and Math. The Jump Start will take place July 19-August 5.
New Staff Updates
The Board approved the contracts of the following new staff members.
Alexa Norton - RES Intervention
Ellie McClarren - 5th-grade language arts
Lindsey Gerbus - RES music.
The district is excited to welcome each of these new staff members as they join the Reading Community.
