ROCKWELL PINK OUT – TUESDAY, OCTOBER 27
During Spirit Week, Rockwell is going PINK for Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
Students and staff are encouraged to wear pink and bring a $1 donation, with proceeds benefiting the Rhode Island Hospital Cancer Center.
Donation jugs will be located in the school hallway just past the main entrance.
This year, Pink Out feels especially personal.
We want to recognize Steph Ferreira, one of those Rockwell parents who somehow always finds another way to show up for our school.
Steph has given countless hours to Rockwell through spirit wear, Glow Runs, school signage, Room Parent duties, event support, and serving as a former PTO Co-President!
She was recently diagnosed with breast cancer and is currently undergoing radiation — yet she continues to give back.
“Sometimes it’s those who have the least to give who always find a way to give the most.”
That feels especially fitting.
And because Steph apparently does not know how to do anything halfway, she has also created ROCKWELL PINK OUT shirts.

Let’s fill Rockwell with pink on October 27 and show some love while supporting a great cause.
MONDAY, OCTOBER 19: OUR FALL FUNDRAISER LAUNCHES
We’re kicking off a three-week Direct Donation Fundraiser with Vertical Raise beginning Monday, October 19.
And before anyone thinks, “Wait…another fundraiser?” — we hear you.
We know the Glow Run is coming in February, and we know families are asked to support a lot throughout the school year.
This fall campaign is intentionally simple.
No products to sell. No deliveries. No boxes of anything living in your dining room for three weeks.
Each student will have the opportunity to create a personal fundraising page that can be shared with family, friends, coworkers, and anyone who may want to support Rockwell.
Our suggested fundraising goal is:
$200 per student — but every share and every donation helps.
There is absolutely no expectation that every family will hit that number.
We are simply trying to take advantage of the energy and generosity that comes with the beginning of a new school year while giving families an easy way to invite their wider circle to support Rockwell.
Rockwell PTO keeps 85% of what is raised.
And those dollars go directly back into things our students actually experience.
Last year, PTO fundraising helped pay for field-trip buses for every grade and funded our new Rockwell sign.
This year, funds will help support:
• Our new student-led Garden Club
• Arts Alive and additional art supplies
• Trunk or Treat, the Holiday Party, and seasonal events
• Additional classroom supplies
• Enrichment opportunities and future PTO projects
When the campaign opens Monday, families will receive the information needed to create their student’s page and start sharing.
Three weeks. One simple campaign. A lot of potential for Rockwell.
