A Message from Principal Laughlin
Dear Parents and Guardians,
Report Cards:
Time is moving quickly as our students are already into the third marking period. If you have not already done so, you are encouraged to please review your child’s second marking period report card that became available on February 4, 2026 in the Genesis Parent Portal. Our third marking period runs through April 2, 2026.
February Activities:
WIS honors Black History Month by educating students regarding the rich heritage, diverse contributions, and incredible achievements black individuals have made throughout history and today.
This week both students and staff have been celebrating team spirit “Hype Week,” which will conclude on Friday, February 13th, with a pep rally where staff and students will compete with one another. It will surely be a memorable and fun day.
Also this week, students spread kindness by purchasing a Happy Heart and either writing words of kindness that will be hung in our hallways or sent to a friend to spread positivity. All proceeds from this fundraiser go to the worthy cause, Mission Snowflake, which is used for “Wall Students Helping Wall Families.”
February 18th, all are welcome to our PTO meeting which will be held at 7:00pm in our WIS cafeteria. There are numerous PTO fundraising events this month and this information, as well as, daily announcements can be found at WIS Daily Announcements.
Remember that Monday, February 16th schools are closed as we honor President’s Day.
Sincerely,
Mr. Laughlin

Luggage for Love School Community Kindness Project
The term “Luggage for Love” refers to charity drives that collect and donate luggage, duffel bags, or suitcases filled with essential items to children in foster care or in crisis. This idea comes from the reality that many children entering foster care must transport all their belongings in plastic garbage bags, which can be demeaning and destabilizing. Providing real luggage instead helps give dignity, comfort, and a sense that they matter. Our goal is for the students at WIS to collect items that can go into these bags and use 2/18 and 2/26 to pack the bags in their Wellness Wednesday homeroom. Finally, we are looking to have selected students (knighted or students of the MPs) to take these items to the outreach building in Bradley Beach to meet with St. James Episcopal Church and CASA representatives who have started the Luggage for Love initiative and will receive our donation for foster children served by CASA of Monmouth and Ocean County at the end of February.
