Annual District Climate Survey Annual District Climate Survey

Deadline February 6th

The San Juan Unified School District has renamed its annual district climate survey to the School Experience Survey. This new name better reflects what the survey is about: your experience at your school. Paper surveys will be sent home this week or you can complete the survey online with the links below. You only need to complete one survey per family, your answers are anonymous.

San Juan Unified would like to invite parents, students and staff to take the school experience survey. Your feedback is vital and informs school leaders of the changes needed in their communities. The deadline for the survey is Feb. 6.

Surveys are available online in English, Spanish, Persian (Farsi/Dari), Russian, Pashto, Ukrainian and Arabic at:

  • Parent Survey - www.sanjuan.edu/parentsurvey

  • Student Survey - www.sanjuan.edu/studentsurvey

We greatly value your feedback and thank you in advance for your participation.

New Volunteer New Volunteer

Would you like to Volunteer? Here is your first step!

Would you like to volunteer in the classroom or on field trips? We are recommending that you do it now as the process takes 2-6 weeks to be finalized. You will only need to do this process once while you are in the San Juan District.

Go to www.sanjuan.edu/volunteer

Click on the Volunteer Verification Button

Fill out the information and submit

The District will reach out with the additional steps that you may need to do such as Fingerprinting.

Please remember that the process takes 2-6 weeks after fingerprinting. You cannot volunteer until you have been fingerprinted and cleared so the sooner the better!

If you have been fingerprinted with San Juan Unified School District, you do not have to do it again. It is valid as long as you have students in a San Juan Unified School. If we are notified of any changes to your status, we will reach out to you.

All Volunteers Must Sign in At the Office!

Drop Off and Pick Up Procedures 1st - 5th Grades

This year we have new late drop off and pick up procedures. Please see below and let us know if you have any questions.

Late Drop Off

If your student arrives after 7:45am, they will need to come to the office for a tardy clock, the gates will be locked. Students will then enter the school through the door in the nurses room.

If students are on campus but are not in their classrooms at 7:45, they will be marked absent and will need to come to the office to get their attendance changed to a tardy.

Late Pick Up

Students are to be picked up within 15 minutes of the bell ringing. After 15 minutes, students will be brought into the office to call for their ride. Whoever is picking the student up will need to come to the office to sign the student out.

M,T,W,F - Pick up by 2:30pm

Th - Pick up by 1:15pm

Parking Lot Update Parking Lot Update

No Left Turns at Dismissal

In our ongoing mission to make dismissal smoother, safer, and just a little less like a scene from a traffic jam movie, we’re implementing a small change with a big impact:

Effective immediately, left turns out of the school parking lot will not be permitted during dismissal time.

(Yes, your GPS might be upset, but your fellow drivers will thank you!)

You’re still welcome to make a left turn during other parts of the school day—just not during that high-traffic window when we're all racing the clock.

We appreciate your understanding and cooperation as we work to keep the flow moving and the horns honking to a minimum. Think of it as turning right… in the right direction!

Thank you for helping us keep dismissal safe and (mostly) sane.

Pick-Up Line PSA Pick-Up Line PSA

Friendly reminder: Please don’t double-park and abandon your vehicle during pick-up. When you do, traffic gets stuck, kids can’t get through safely, and the rest of us wonder if your car has been left behind as modern art. If you need to walk up, please use a designated parking spot—your fellow parents (and our traffic flow) will thank you!

Medications at School Medications at School

Medications at School

A designated school employee may administer medication during the school hours only upon written request of both the physician and parent(s) or guardian, detailing the method, amount, and time the medication is to be taken.

Medication will be administered only to students whose parent and physician deem it necessary for potentially life-threatening medical conditions or for those who need medication administered during the school day in order to interact appropriately at school.

Authorization forms for medication are available to download below, or at each school office. A new form must be completed before the start of each school year. Medications must be brought to the school office in their original container.
