ONE SCHOOL ONE BOOK ONE SCHOOL ONE BOOK

What an end to our Rat’s Tale! We will be celebrating the final chapters of Malcolm At Midnight on Friday, May 31st with a visit from some LIVE rats! Our friends from “Oh Rats, Dog Training” have graciously allowed Webster School to borrow some of their rats. Your student will get the opportunity to be up close with a live rat! Student participation is voluntary. We will also enjoy a “rat tail” themed treat. Ask you student what does a rat tail really feel like ….

Has your family enjoyed reading Malcolm At Midnight? There are so many benefits to sharing a book together as a family. Reading together: builds connections with our children, develops language and listening skills, teaches life lessons, and builds creative minds. It is also one of the best ways to slow down after a hectic day! Keeping up your reading routine over the summer will help prevent a summer slide come the fall! (Summer slide is the term used to describe the loss of learning from the previous school year.) If you liked Malcolm At Midnight, you may enjoy these other stories:

Malcolm Under the Stars (Yes! There is a sequel.)

The Miraculous Journey of Edward Tulane

The Mouse and the Motorcycle, Runaway Ralph, Ralph S. Mouse

Library Mouse

The Tale of Despereaux

The School Mouse

Rat’s Tale: A Story About a Mouse Named Rat

Charlotte’s Web

These and other great adventures await for you this summer at the library! Watertown Public library will be visiting during Library Media classes next week to talk about the many opportunities they will have this summer. Keep reading!
