District 103

Dear D103 Families,

Building students’ social-emotional learning (SEL) skills is important for all District 103 students. As a part of the learning process, we will be asking our students to reflect on their own SEL mindsets via an online survey. The survey will be administered between October 1 and October 15, 2025, and it should take approximately 20 minutes to complete. The survey asks students to self-reflect on their perseverance (DW only), growth mindset (DW only), self-efficacy, self-management, social awareness, and emotional regulation.

Individual student responses can provide the school with insight into what skills the child self-identifies as strengths and others they would like to develop. The overall data helps us (the educators) identify priorities and provide targeted learning opportunities to address the SEL needs in our classrooms.

Per policy 7:15, if you would like your child to opt out of taking the survey, please complete the Opt-out Form by noon Wednesday, September 24, 2025.

The next Board of Education meeting will occur at 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 30. The notice and agenda can be found on the District 103 Board meeting website page. D103 board meetings will be live-streamed each month on our YouTube Channel. Members of the community should attend the meeting at 111 Barclay Boulevard, Lincolnshire if they would like to make a public comment. The public can also contact the Board at board@d103.org.
