WMS Boys Cross Country Wins State Championship + Girls Earn Podium Finish
Congratulations to the Westfield Middle School cross country teams on their strong performances at the Indiana Middle School Cross Country Championship on Oct. 3! The boys won the state title in the large-school division, finishing first out of 49 teams, while the girls earned a fifth-place finish. Adam Lindemann-Cox also broke the school record. Congratulations also to head coach Linda Ogle and assistant coaches Whitney Ackerman, Rick Cox, and Tom West.
Students across WWS got moving and showed plenty of school spirit during this year’s Rock-A-Thon celebrations! From fun runs and obstacle courses to dancing, games, and plenty of surprises, each school put its own spin on the tradition while supporting PTO programs and experiences for students and educators. Check out the recap and photos from across the district.
The question I wish we could ask on the ballot is pretty straightforward: Do we want to continue investing in the things that have helped make Westfield one of the most welcoming and desirable communities in this country? Unfortunately, that is not the question voters will see on the ballot. Referendums are complicated. They ask taxpayers to sort through tax rates, assessed values, deductions, credits, levies, property tax caps, and state funding formulas just to understand what a vote means for their family. Unfortunately, the question voters will see on the ballot makes that task even harder.

The Westfield Education Foundation is celebrating 40 years of supporting WWS with a milestone grant cycle! These grants will bring new resources, hands-on experiences, and learning opportunities to classrooms across the district.
ILEARN results are in, and WWS students continue to demonstrate strong academic achievement. Proficiency rates exceeded Indiana averages in every reported subject area, with WWS ranking among the state’s top traditional public school districts in science, social studies, math, and English language arts. Thank you to our students, educators, families, and community for making this excellence possible!
School Resource Officers are an important part of WWS’ approach to school safety, but their role extends beyond law enforcement. Learn how SROs serve as officers, educators, and mentors, the specialized training they receive, how they build relationships with students and staff, and how the WWS partnership with the Westfield Police Department works.
Calling all student artists and writers! The City of Westfield is accepting entries for its Veterans Day Poster, Poem, & Essay Contest. Students who live in Westfield or Washington Township are invited to participate and help honor our veterans. Entries are due October 30.
