Meetings in Review - September 2025
The Board was presented with several property related matters this month including an update on the sale of the former Audubon Elementary School property, updated 10-year Master Facilities Plan, capital borrowing plan and high school renovation updates.
Assistant Superintendent Dr. Jason Sorgini presented that Judge Page’s order for the sale of the Audubon Elementary School property to WB Homes was approved. There are a number additional steps remaining including an inspection period that could ultimately lead a closing no later than July 2027.
Methacton Facilities Director Mr. Doug Kenwood and Dr. Sorgini presented an updated 10-year Master Facilities Plan that includes all district properties with the exception of the Central Administration Building and the High School. The 10-year plan is estimated to address nearly $55 million in mechanical, electrical and plumbing needs along with roofs and driveways. This work is part of our commitment to keeping our properties warm, safe and dry.
Ms. Kimberly Steffy, Director of Business Services, presented a 10-year capital borrowing plan inclusive of the projected Master Facilities plan costs and potential borrowing capacity for the High School. The 10-year plan showed borrowing of $180 million. The design team continues work on options for renovation to Methacton High School and were asked to consider ways to break the options into phases or projects to spread over time in order to best fit into the 10-year forecast.
