Happy Friday Altamont Creek Staff!

All the fun October/fall activities are beginning (and the weather too!)! Here is a recap of the week ahead!

I am excited to unviel 2 options for our updated Wildcat, ACE. Please go HERE to vote for your first choice! We plan to "debut" updated ACE in January 2025 when we launch our 25th Anniversary!

Welcome New Head Custodian

Starting Monday, Oct. 21st, James Hessler will be our Head Custodian. He comes to us from Vineyard/Alternative Ed. Please welcome James to Altamont Creek!

Picture Retakes 10/22

Staff: if you did not get your picture taken, please plan to do so on 10/22. Parent volunteers will go class by class to collect any students that need their picture taken/retaken.

"I Forgot" Table

Parents are getting excess with the items they are bringing in for their students (i.e. water bottles, jackets, forks...yes, someone brought in a fork!) Moving forward, the office will communicate with you about important items (i.e. glasses, hearing aids, chromebooks) but will start asking parents to email you if they decide to leave any other items. I will put this in the Wildcat Weekly.

Trunk or Treat is Friday, October 25 from 6-8 PM- Don’t miss this fun event for all of our Altamont Creek community, hosted by our very own PTA. I'm looking forward to seeing our current, past and future Wildcats there with their families!

Halloween Parade Tuesday, October 31 at 8:45am. As your classes start to prepare for parties, please remember parents need to be cleared volunteers to attend.

Earthquake Drill Follow Up

Thank you all for participating in the Great Shakeout! We practiced a few scenarios and the students involved did great! Below are the scenarios:

Site reports that they have a strong smell of gas near the 500 Building. Custodian will be shutting off the gas and they want Maintenance to come out ASAP. There is some cracking noticed in the sides of a few buildings. Two students were struck with falling items in a room in the 400 Building-just cuts/bruising. No major injuries to report.

FundRun Incentive Schedule

Wednesday, Oct. 23rd: Top 10 Limo Ride 1:30-3pm

Safe Routes to School Travel Tally- Oct. 23rd

Each year Safe Routes asks all schools to collect tallies for how students get to school. We will do this Wednesday, Oct. 23rd. I will put a copy of the form in your box. Please complete the form Wednesday, Oct. 23rd and return to the box in the office. I will put all completed forms in a raffle and one class will earn extra recess!

Reminder! Mice Invading ACE

Here are some tips:

-keep your door closed

-make sure all student backpacks, lunches, etc are closed

-minimize the food near your classroom/keep food in plastic, sealed containers
