Roosevelt Report
May 10, 2026
Principal Points
Dear Roosevelt Families,
We had another wonderful week at Roosevelt Elementary, and there is so much to celebrate across our school community!
First, we are thrilled to share that all of our students have officially completed M-STEP testing. We could not be more proud of the hard work, focus, perseverance, and grit our Tigers demonstrated throughout the testing process. Our students approached each day with positive attitudes, determination, and their very best effort. Thank you to our families for supporting them through this important time. Together, we helped our students feel confident and prepared to shine!
This week, we will continue administering our final i-Ready assessments. These assessments provide another meaningful opportunity for students to showcase the tremendous growth they have made throughout the school year. It is always exciting to see the progress our students have made academically, socially, and emotionally, and we look forward to celebrating all they have accomplished.
As we move further into May, our calendar continues to fill with many exciting end-of-year events, celebrations, showcases, and activities. These moments create lasting memories for our students and are some of the most joyful parts of the school year. Please continue reviewing the dates and information included in this newsletter carefully, as it will help keep your family informed about all upcoming schoolwide events for the remainder of the year. Classroom-specific information and celebrations will continue to be shared directly through teacher newsletters and communication.
Finally, we would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to our incredible PTA for organizing such a thoughtful and meaningful Staff Appreciation Week. Our staff truly felt celebrated, valued, and supported throughout the week. We are so grateful to all of the families and community members who contributed their time, kindness, generosity, and encouragement to make the week so special.
Roosevelt is truly a wonderful place to learn and grow because of the caring, supportive, and generous community that surrounds our students each and every day.
Wishing everyone a wonderful week ahead!
Let’s make it a Pawsome Week, Tigers! 🐾
With Tiger Pride,
Mrs. Samouelian
As we celebrate Mother’s Day this weekend, we want to extend our heartfelt appreciation to all of the incredible mothers, grandmothers, caregivers, and mother figures in our Roosevelt community. Thank you for the love, support, encouragement, and countless ways you help our students grow each day. Your care and partnership make a lasting difference in the lives of our children and our school community. We hope you have a wonderful and well-deserved Mother’s Day filled with love and celebration!

2nd Annual Bubble Run Event
We did it! Roosevelt Tigers completed enough miles to make it all the way to Hollywood! To celebrate this amazing accomplishment, we are excited to host our 2nd Annual Bubble Run on Wednesday, May 20th from 1:45–3:30 p.m.
All students who qualified are invited to participate in this fun event! Students will receive a pair of sunglasses and enjoy a Kona Ice treat after the run.
We are looking for volunteers to help make this event a success. If you are interested in helping, please sign up using the link below.
Grade level leaders will guide students to the Bubble Run area. Students will run for approximately 15 minutes before heading to the Kona Ice truck with their group. After enjoying their treat outside, students will return to class together.
Bubble fillers will help maintain the bubble machines and blow bubbles while students run around the track.
Disclaimer: This is a student only event during the school day. Unfortunately, we can not support spectators at this time. We can only accept volunteers. Please sign up using the sign up genius to volunteer. An i-chat must be completed prior to the event.
We appreciate your support in helping make this a fun and memorable event for our Roosevelt Tigers!

Please help your child return any overdue books to school. If unable to locate books, please replace with a new, exact copy or pay the cost of the book indicated on the overdue notice.
Any questions, feel free to contact Mr. Pinta at cpinta@livoniapublicschools.org
Disney movies are a great way to teach the character trait of reflection because students naturally connect to the characters, emotions, choices, and lessons. Reflection helps children think about their actions, feelings, growth, and decisions. Using familiar movies makes those conversations meaningful and engaging.
Here are some simple and effective ways to teach reflection through Disney movies in an elementary setting:
What Is Reflection? (Kid-Friendly Definition)
“Reflection means stopping to think about what happened, how we felt, what we learned, and what we might do differently next time.”
You can compare reflection to:
- Looking into a mirror for your thoughts
- Replaying a moment in your mind
- Learning from experiences
