Dancing Hands: A Story of Friendship in Filipino Sign Language by Joanna Que and Charina Marquez

Our new neighbors’ hands are dancing. Their hands move as if to music. What are they saying to each other?

Sam’s new neighbors’ hands make graceful movements she doesn’t recognize, and she wonders what they are saying. Soon she meets her new neighbor, Mai, who teaches Sam some Filipino Sign Language. Along the way, they both discover the joys of making a new friend, a best friend.

This sweet and perceptive picture book tells the story of two girls as they learn to communicate with each other. Dancing Hands conveys the shy and fumbling experience of making friends and overcoming language barriers.

Students will learn about American Sign Language and learn simple signs.

Farm to School! We are partnering again this year with C.N. Smith Farm, Langwater Farm, and Vineyard Farm to provide fresh and local fruits and vegetables for our school meals and at test testing events in the cafeteria. The list includes local corn, tomatoes, cucumbers, peppers, melons, potatoes, red and yellow beets, lettuce, carrots, and of course several varieties of apples! The RLM school garden harvested butternut squash to be served district-wide!

Monthly Menus - Click on WB Food Services to find lunch and breakfast menus. Both meals are free to all students!

Food Assistance- Project Bread Food Source Hotline , West Bridgewater Food Pantry.

Positions available- Great at social media and interested in food photography? There is a stipend available for an individual to promote our School Nutrition program on social media. Hours are very flexible and variable but the applicant will need to be available during the day.

We are also looking for cafeteria substitutes!

Questions, concerns, suggestions? Contact Ann Marie Grinder, Food Service Director at agrinder@wbridgewater.com or (508)894-1220.
