Thank you to everyone who joined us for our Holiday Luncheon in December! We had a wonderful turnout of approximately 25 attendees who enjoyed a warm pasta meal from the Streetcar, made possible by our generous lunch sponsors, Caywood Oil & Propane and Caywood Country Store.
Our guest speakers, Glenn and Emily Swanson from Oldenburg Arts and Cultural Community (OACC), gave an insightful presentation on creative placemaking. With support from a grant by the Blandin Foundation, OACC is working to engage local creatives and strengthen their connections within our community.
Attendees had the opportunity to learn how other rural communities use creative placemaking to enhance their vitality—and how they, too, can harness their creativity to celebrate and enrich the place we call home.
We were also treated to a special musical performance by Abrianna Schmidt, featuring holiday classics and her award-winning song, Small Town Girl. Abrianna, who served as last year's Grand Marshal of the Carlton Daze Parade, brought a festive touch to the event.
To wrap up the luncheon, we played Holiday Jingle BINGO, where attendees had the chance to win some fantastic prizes, including:
- (4) $25 gift cards to Streetcar (courtesy of the Chamber)
- (3) Extravagant poinsettias from The Green House (courtesy of the Chamber)
- (4) Movie passes to Premier Theatres (courtesy of Woodlands National Bank)
And no one left empty-handed! Heather and Jackie from The Green House surprised everyone with a beautiful poinsettia to take home. Thank you both for your generosity and for adding an extra festive touch to our celebration!
