Here is some information for the start of the 2026-2027 school year:

• All returning students please complete the Annual Enrollment (see below)
• The offical first day of school is Thursday, August 13
• Teachers and advisors will be reaching out via the primary parent email on student accounts
• All K-5 students will hear from their teacher on Friday, August 7
• All new 6-8 students will hear from their advisory on Monday, August 7 or Monday, August 11
• All new 9-12 students will hear from their counselor (9 & 10 Mrs. Overton, moverton@usd497.org or 11 & 12 Mrs. Lyke, llyke@usd497.org) before school starts to get you enrolled in classes

Annual Enrollment is taking place now through Friday, August 7 for all returning and transfers from other LPS schools (new students do not complete Annual this year). A big Thank You to the over 250 families who have completed the Annual Enrollment

All returning LVS students need to complete the Annual Enrollment which verifies home address, emergency contacts, permissions, and annual notices. All LVS families must also upload a new proof of residency from the list below:

• Current (dated after May 1, 2026) gas, electric, or water statement (be sure to send the entire document; you may mark out any account numbers/amounts)

• Current parent/guardian driver's license with current address

• New Lease agreement with signatures of both parties

• Current Auto registration (the page the sticker comes on)

• If purchasing a home, the Settlement Statement from closing / or utility set-up confirmation

TRANSFERING STUDENTS

If you are staying with Lawrence Public Schools and transfering back to your Brick & Mortar boundary school please use the link below. You will need to attach a new Proof of Residency.

Returning to LPS Boundary School

If you are leaving LVS/LPS please complete the link below. We will need to know where your student(s) plan to school for the 2026-2027 school year as we cannot officially withdraw them until they are activiely enrolled in another K-12 school.

All currently enrolled LVS High School students can access their transcript through Parchment. When creating your account please use your personal email address; DO NOT use a school email address. You will have access to this account until July 31st after graduation or withdrawal from LVS. The LVS office will no longer be providing transcripts to current High School students, so please create your Parchment account today!

It has come to our attention that some readers are no longer seeing our newsletter's table of contents. This may be due to being zoomed all the way in on on the webpage. To zoom out follow these directions:

For Mac devices, hold the Command key and press the minus key to zoom out.

For Windows PC devices, you can zoom out by holding Ctrl while pressing the minus symbol.

Below are some more detailed Zoom instructions for students and learning coaches. If your teacher is using Zoom please be sure to download these for further reference.

All LVS Parents, for your student to be successful you need to create your PowerSchool Parent Account as soon as possible. The Enrollment department will be providing all new parents within the next couple of weeks with the information required to set up your parent account.

School Fees for 2026-2027 school year will be assessed by the District Finance Office in September. Fees amounts will be announced as soon as they become available. Payments can be made by check, credit/debit card, or by calling the office.

To qualifiy for Free/Reduced LVS school fees families need to complete the LPS Free/Reduced Lunch Application and a Consent for Disclosure Form each school year. Both the application and Consent Form are now completed online by clicking the blue link!

It is important that your LVS teachers and staff have current contact information. If you have a new email or phone number please contact our office (lvs@usd497.org or 785-832-5620).

All Home/Mailing Address Changes will be made by completing the Address Change form. Home address changes require Proof of Residence (parent driver's licence with new address, utility bill, lease agreement, or vehicle registration uploaded in the Address Change form).

Scholastic Reading Club is an opportunity for K-8 students to order books from Scholastic Book Clubs that are delivered directly to your home. When you use the LVS code to purchase books, we can offer free books to share with students.
