Don't miss out on the opportunity to offer your opinion and thoughts!

Dear Parents and caregivers,

We are working with the USD385 and WAMPO to create Safe Routes to School plans. The plans will recommend ways to make walking and biking to school easier, safer, and more comfortable for students and families. The Wichita Area Metropolitan Planning Organization (WAMPO) will use this information to recommend programs, infrastructure projects, and other potential improvements to be implemented across the region with local partners.

Please take 5 minutes to complete the survey at the link below and help us create a better plan!

Friendly Reminder regarding Cell Phones and Smart Watches at School

Cell phones and Smart Watches must remain in student's backpacks during the school day. The policy in the Student Handbook reads:

No electronic devices may be used without staff authorization, nor should they be used to take pictures, recording, or videos or others unless it is an authorized activity directed by a staff member. Electronic devices, including cell phones and smart watches, that cause a disruption to the educational setting are not acceptable and will be confiscated from students and returned only when a parent or guardian comes to the school to claim the item.

Students may bring cellular telephones to school; however, the cell phone must remain in the student’s backpacks until the end of the school day. All cell phone and/or communication device that is not kept in a student’s backpack will be taken from that student and given to the administration, who will contact the parents. Violators of this policy may be subject to disciplinary action which may include the loss the cell phone privileges.

If you feel your child meets the definition of an authorized activity, please contact Mr. Cavanaugh at cavanaum@usd385.org. Please reinforce this with your child, as these devices have significant impact on classroom interruptions.

Join the Robert Martin Site Council!

We are looking for parents who want to join the Robert Martin Site Council for the 25-26 school year. The site council brings together parents to share ideas and learn more about school and district happenings. We will have 4 meetings this year on:

  • September 17th - 4:30-5:30 @ Robert Martin
  • November 5th - 5:00-6:00 @ District Office (District Elementary Site Council)
  • February 10th - Time TBD @ Robert Martin
  • April 8th- 5:00-6:00 @ (District Elementary Site Council)

Consider joining to share your perspective as a parent and strengthen the connection between the Robert Martin families and school. If you're interested, please contact Matt Cavanaugh, Robert Martin Principal, at cavanaum@usd385.org.

Powerschool App is Available

For parents who have not previously downloaded the app, please find it in the App Store or Google Play. You will need your PowerSchool username and password, and the district code, which is BZSR. As you learned during Registration you can't use your phone for Registration. But other than that, the app is great to monitor your students grades at semester as well as absences, etc. It's useful starting now all the way through high school.

2024 - 2025 Yearbook Update

Last years yearbooks are available to pick up during office hours in the foyer. If you didn't order one but want one, there are still some available in the office. We still have some soft cover yearbooks available for $20. The yearbook committee did an amazing job capturing our students memories last year.
