LMHS Updates
for parents and families ... May 25, 2026
MCAS Testing Continues...
Our final MCAS tests of the year will be given next week:
- Monday, June 1 - Grade 8 Civics test
- Tuesday, June 2 and Wednesday, June 3 - High school biology test
As always, students should come to school that day with a fully charged Chromebook. A good night's sleep and a hearty breakfast also helps on testing days!
May Interim Grade Report
Students in grades 7 through 11 will have their final Interim Grade Report of the year issued this Friday, May 29. (Seniors will not receive one as their last day of classes is Thursday... see below for more senior information.) Grade reports will be emailed to all students and parents/guardians after 3:00pm on Friday.
Information For and About Seniors
For seniors in good standing (those who are passing all graduation requirements), the final day of classes is Thursday, May 28. Grades close at 3:00pm Thursday for those students. Teachers have until noon on Monday, June 1 to finalize senior grades, and we expect to issue final senior report cards that day. Any seniors not in good standing are expected to continue in their classes.
For those seniors attending the Class Trip, it departs in the morning on Monday, June 1 and returns around 11:30am on Tuesday, June 2. The first graduation rehearsal - mandatory to walk in the graduation ceremony - is at noon on Tuesday, June 2. A second rehearsal - also mandatory - is at 8:30am on Wednesday, June 3; we will start at LMHS and all seniors will take a bus to Tanglewood.
Class Night is Thursday, June 4 at 6:30pm. Seniors should report no later than 6:00. Families are welcome and encouraged to attend!
Graduation is Saturday, June 6 at 1:30pm at Tanglewood. No tickets are required; there is plenty of seating for all!
Senior Art Show
Paws and Play
Paws and Play - a modern take on a field day - is Wednesday, May 27th in the afternoon. This event will have grade vs grade games, a yard game area, and a variety of relaxing options. Students should remember sunscreen/hats/sunglasses, water, athletic clothes/shoes, snacks, a white t-shirt if they want to tie dye, and their own book if they'd like to enjoy the read and lounge area.
From 7:58am - 11:26am regular classes will be held, with shortened periods. Lunch will occur after that, followed by Paws and Play activities for the last two hours of the school day.
Save on your Chromebook insurance next year!
Protect your school-issued Chromebook, and save on your insurance next year! If you purchase a Chromebook sleeve you'll save $5 on your insurance for the 2026-2027 school year. (Note that our insurance provider has let us know that the insurance next year will increase from $25 to $30 -- so if you buy a sleeve for protection, the insurance rate won't increase for you.)
