Principal's Message

Good Friday Evening SPOTSYCTC Community,

Time really flies when you're doing what you love and having fun along the way. As always, I am so impressed with our students; they are working hard, doing amazing things and having a great time doing it. Some of the highlights this week were; Our Culinary Department hosted the Region 3 CTE meeting this week, putting on a amazing spread, Cosmetology has started Transformation Tuesday, opening up their Salon, and Vet Science worked with Old Dominion Humane Society to help get their amazing pets ready for adoption. There is always something amazing happening in this building.

Today, we also recognized our 2023-2024 SPOTSYCTC Teacher OF The Year, Mr. Stinson, who is our amazing carpentry instructor. Mr. Stinson is now in the running for Spotsylvania County Public School Teacher of the Year. Congratulation Mr. Stinson and Good Luck!

  • Parents, please remember, if your picking up your student early from SpotsyCTC, please come in to sign them out.
  • Attendance is important, especially at SpotsyCTC considering most of our class are double-blocked, we don't want our students missing out on all the excitement.
  • Many of our instructors use Canvas and it has been a great teacher tool. Occasionally, students will find assignments, readings and other materials posted on Canvas. When students completing these on their own time, our instructors are able to dedicate more time in the labs and for other real-world, hands-on experiences.

Each week we will take the opportunity to spotlight our students, staff, programs and schools through our newsletters, social media platforms, school announcements and video boards. Stay connected with us through our social media platforms:

  • Facebook: SpotsyCTC
  • Twitter: SpotsyCTC
  • Instagram: SpotsyCTC

At the SpotsyCTC we like to think we stands out as something truly special – we proudly cater to students from all five exceptional high schools and present an array of 19 distinct programs, 9 defined pathways and 24 industry-recognized credentials. Our overarching mission is to equip every student with the readiness to venture into the workforce, pursue higher education, engage in training programs, or even serve in the military. Through immersive, hands-on classroom experiences, we provide students with real-world skills and enable them to dive into Workplace Learning, Job Shadowing, Internship/Externship programs, Student Organizations, and a host of other enriching avenues.

Good luck to all of our students who are participating in activities this weekend and next week. I know we have so many students who are involved in the fine arts, sports, clubs, outside events and other extracurricular activities. This journey requires substantial extra time, countless hours of preparation and a skillful juggling of academics, personal life and sometimes work commitments. Good Luck and continued success and remember The Power of Little Things, Transforming into Big Achievements"!

Please be careful this weekend, especially with the anticipation of heavy rain in the area. I hope you find some time to unwind, recharge, and enjoy precious moments with loved ones. We look forward to seeing everyone back on Monday.

“SPOTSYCTC…. The Bridge that connects YOUR NOW to YOUR FUTURE

2023-2024 theme is: “The Power of Little Things, Transforming into Big Achievements."
