Transportation Information

The Springdale School District provides transportation to and from Don Tyson School of Innovation for students who live within the Springdale School District. Busses pick students up at the neighborhood location and take them to their zoned junior high school. A DTSOI transfer bus brings them to/from DTSOI.

During the first week of school, DTSOI teachers will be at each junior high school to make sure students know what to do and which bus will take them to/from DTSOI.

The district's transportation website can give you specific transportation information and your student's bus number. Click the Bus Information button above.

Attendance Policy for the 2021-2022 School Year

As we are gearing up for the 2021-2022 school year it is important that families are aware of the Springdale School District's attendance policy. Regular school attendance is essential to a student's academic success.

Excessive Absences

  • Nine (9) or more absences in a semester will be considered excessive.

  • Students who accumulate more than eight (8) absences in a class for the semester will not be eligible for credit in that class.

  • Denial of credit may affect promotion and/or graduation of the individual student.

The following classification of absences will not count toward the eight (8) day limit in which credit for the course or promotion will be denied.

  • Campus Activity: School sponsored field trips, assemblies, contests, or any other school activity as determined by the building principal.

  • Medical: Student absences due to the directive of the student’s medical doctor/dental appointments. Doctor/Dental appointments must indicate the day and time the student was seen in the doctor/dental office. Appropriate documentation from doctor/dental office must be submitted to the attendance office.

  • Military: Student absences due to military deployment on leave from active duty of a parent or legal guardian.

  • Legal: Student absences due to court or legal appointments. Court/legal appointments must indicate the day and time the student was seen at court or at the attorney’s office. Appropriate documentation from the court/legal office must be submitted to the attendance office.

Please review the attendance policy in the Springdale School District's Handbook linked below.

  • Any 9th or 11th grader may pay to take the test as well. Students can sign up and pay the $20 fee at https://osp.osmsinc.com/SpringdaleAR/BVModules/ProductTemplates/Bvc2013/Product.aspx?productid=GM703-140
