Reflection...

First, I want to extend a huge thank you to our incredible Office of School Counseling for hosting a tremendously successful Senior Parent Night this week. The turnout was excellent, and the feedback has been overwhelmingly positive. Helping our students and families navigate the college application process is a crucial part of our mission, and the counseling team's hard work and preparation truly made the evening an invaluable resource for our senior families.

You may have noticed the significant progress being made on our new turf field! The construction is coming along nicely and is starting to transform that space. We are on track and looking forward to the day our students can officially utilize this wonderful addition to our campus.

Please remember that school officially starts at 8:10 AM. This means students need to be seated in their first-block classroom and ready to learn at 8:10 AM, not just entering the building or walking the halls. Instructional time is precious, and arriving on time ensures students don't miss important announcements or lesson introductions, which sets them up for a successful day.

We ask for your support in reminding your student of the importance of punctuality and helping them establish a routine that ensures they are on campus and in class well before the 8:10 AM bell.

CGHS Crime Scene!! CGHS Crime Scene!!

The Algebra 1 students came to the rescue of Mr. Coster by solving the clues left behind in the Media Center. Moving and practicing together the topics we've covered, in anticipation of their upcoming Chapter 1 test. Thankfully, there were no serious injuries and the students were able to catch the perpetrators before they struck again!

National Honor Society Peer Tutoring National Honor Society Peer Tutoring

Need a Tutor? The National Honor Society Cedar Grove High School offers Peer Tutoring for all

high-school students (you do not need to be a member of NHS to request a peer tutor). If you

would like to request a peer tutor, please follow the procedure below and check out the peer

tutoring catalog in the attachments for the students name, availability, and subjects they are

offering to teach. We have an amazing group of Senior NHS tutors who are eager to tutor your

student/child.

Procedures:

â—Ź Students should contact their teacher for additional assistance.

â—Ź Teachers/Counselors may recommend students try the National Honors Society peer

tutoring program.

â—Ź Teachers may share this catalog with students in need of tutoring, and the student may

select a tutor that they believe will be a good fit for them. Please keep in mind that many

students tutor in multiple subjects (and many students tutor in the same subject), so try

to find who you feel will be the best fit for your needs.

â—Ź Contact Ms.Halawani by email to notify her of your tutor preference BEFORE contacting

the tutor. If a teacher/counselor is contacting Ms. Halawani on behalf of a student,

please include the student in the email.

● After confirming tutor availability with Ms.Halawani copy down your tutor’s contact

information from the catalog.

â—Ź Contact your tutor to schedule your sessions.

â—Ź Report back to Ms. Halawani informing her of when you are holding tutoring sessions.

Note: Any conflicts/issues should be reported to Ms Halawani: halawani.mirna@cgshools.org
