The Weekly Words
10/4/26
At Noble Elementary, we believe that every student has the right to learn and grow in a safe and respectful environment. We also believe that every student has the power to make positive choices, learn from mistakes, and become stronger leaders in our school community. Noble Elementary empowers all students for college and career readiness through AVID’s schoolwide focus on WICOR, student success skills, and a growth mindset.
The Noble PTA teamed up with Ms. Wallace last week to transform the Media Center into a vibrant reading oasis for the Scholastic Book Fair. Working together to unpack boxes, organize display shelves, and create engaging book stations, the volunteers and staff ensured everything was ready for students to explore and discover their next favorite stories this upcoming week. Thank you all!
Asset Based Thinking 2.0
Team,
In our second year together, we have a unique advantage: we aren't starting from scratch, we are refining our craft, raising our collective bar, and building on a shared foundation. As you reflect on the past 7 weeks, approach your practice with an asset-based mindset, focusing on what is within our control: changing our instruction to meet diverse student needs, building effective habits, and inspiring our students daily. We’ve hit some early turbulence, but moving forward requires us to refocus, reset, and elevate beyond basic management into true student ownership of our classroom community.
Firmly remind students of our expectations, but always meet them with love and radical empathy. I will say it again, power struggles never win against students who are still learning to regulate. When tension arises, de-escalation, connection, and calm consistency will carry us far further than reacting in the moment. Let’s ground ourselves in clarity, reset our standards, and lead our classrooms.

Fall Fest 2026
Please join us for our annual Noble and CLC Fall Fest on Friday, October 16 from 5:30 – 7:30 PM at Noble Elementary! This is a great opportunity to connect with our families, engage with community partners, and celebrate our scholars outside the classroom.
Arrival/Dismissal Expectations
With extra doors to monitor and fewer staff members this year, our team is spread thin. Every absence and delay severely impacts building safety, making your punctuality at assigned duty posts essential.
Arrival Window (8:30 – 8:45 AM): Duty has been reduced to just 15 minutes before instruction to ease the morning load. Please be at your post promptly at 8:30 AM.
Absences & Coverage: If running late or absent, notify leadership immediately and try to arrange backfill coverage with a teammate.
Dismissal Timeline: Building transitions begin at 3:15 PM for primary and 3:15–3:20 PM for upper elementary to pack up. No classes or students may exit the building prior to 3:25 PM.

Communication Plan - Persons with Disabilities
The District has adopted a plan for communications with persons with disabilities, which is available at the following link: Communication Plan. The plan establishes procedures to ensure that the District's communications with persons with disabilities, including applicants, participants, members of the public, and companions with disabilities, are as effective as its communications with others.
TBTs This Week: Resumed
Noble’s TBTs meet from 8:15 to 9:05 a.m. to collaborate, analyze leading data, and refine instructional practices to boost student outcomes. Teachers are expected to arrive prepared with completed data forms, relevant resources, work samples, and a focus on backwards design and active participation. Grade team leaders hold the autonomy to set agendas, select content, and direct TBT time—allocating roughly 75% or more to academics while using the remainder for foundational culture needs as appropriate. At the end of each session, leads reflect upon the meeting’s success ,using our Success Criteria.
Recap: Grade Level MTSS Meetings
Our Grade-Level MTSS Meetings wrapped up as a success, with teams coming together to deeply analyze student data and craft targeted academic and social-emotional supports. Thank you to everyone for your intentional collaboration and commitment to driving positive outcomes for all our scholars. All meeting materials, updated data trackers, and action planning resources discussed during these sessions can now be found in the shared MTSS Drive folder.
Student Concern Form
Use this form to communicate a student concern and request initial support or problem-solving. The Student Concern Form is the entry point to the MTSS/RFA process. Providing a concern does not automatically result in a formal RFA or change in intervention.
AVID Strategy of the Week
Mind maps are diagrams that can be used to visually organize information. A mind map is hierarchical and demonstrates the relationships among increasingly smaller pieces of a larger concept. Mind maps are usually created around a single central concept, which is placed in the center of a blank page as the
“parent.” Then, associated “child” ideas, such as images and words, are added. Ideas can branch off as much as needed.
Other characteristics might include:
• An overall theme
• The use of images, shapes, and colors to make the mind map more visually stimulating
• More flexible formatting than a concept map would have
• Clarifying text (words and phrases)
District Learning Walks
The Academic Services Team is looking forward to beginning District Learning Walks in all CH-UH schools. First semester Learning Walks begin the week of December 7 for Noble.
You can access the District Learning Walk form here for your review. After a team member completes a Learning Walk, the teacher, and co-teacher if applicable, will receive feedback from the Learning Walk via email. As a reminder, District Learning Walks are not Evaluative and the purpose of the Learning Walk is to provide BLTs and the district team with feedback on implementation of the district and building One Plans. District Learning Walks also help the Academic Services team align our district instructional practices to High Quality Instructional Materials.
