Our AVID 12 scholars are preparing for life after high school by researching an independent living skill and teaching their classmates. Some topics weβve learned about include: how to iron clothes and tie a tie, how to budget, how to get a carwash, how to volunteer in the community, how to keep track of financial aid/loans, and how to read a map!
π Student Recognition
A Student Above!
Whether itβs guiding new students, offering a helping hand, or simply being a friendly face, their kindness does not go unnoticed. Thank you, Serena and Devin, for your welcoming spirit and leadership!

Parent Portal Update Emergency Contacts Directions
Parents and caregivers, please update emergency contact information in Infinite Campus these directions.
π Arrival & Dismissal Safety Reminders
Keeping our students safe is our top priority. Please review these important procedures carefully:
π Drop Off & Pick Up Lane
ALL parents/caregivers must use the designated drop off/pick up lane located on the outside of the student parking lot.
Using other areas to avoid the line creates serious safety concerns. Please allow extra time in the morning and afternoon so you are not rushed.
π« Do NOT drop off in:
-
The bus lane
-
The student parking lot
We will be monitoring these areas closely.
π Bus Lane & Student Parking = No Parent Drop Off
Over the past two years, families have used the bus lane and student lot to bypass the drop off line.
β οΈ This creates SIGNIFICANT safety risks for students and staff.
Please help us keep everyone safe by using only the designated lane.
βΏ Respect Disabled Parking β 24/7
Accessible parking spaces are reserved for individuals with disabilities at all times.
π« Do NOT:
-
Park in disabled spaces without authorization
-
Block these spaces while waiting
These actions prevent students and families with disabilities from safely arriving and leaving.
π« Ticketing will be enforced.
π ΏοΈ Student Parking Requirements
Students must:
-
Have a current student parking registration
-
Park ONLY in the designated student lot
Students parked in:
-
Staff lots (front of building)
-
Athletic side lots
-
Visitor or staff spaces
will be ticketed.
π Fire Lane β Emergency Use Only
The fire lane behind the school is NOT a shortcut.
π« No driving around the building through the fire lane.
π Beginning August 26 - Gates will be closed on school days from 7:00amβ4:00pm.
π West Side Circle Drive
The circle drive on the west side of the building is RESERVED for specialized transportation only.
When other vehicles use this space for drop off or pick up, it creates a significant safety hazard for students with disabilities who rely on specialized transportation.
Please respect this reserved area.
Thank you for your cooperation in keeping our school community safe and accessible for everyone!

Event Guideliness

All West students will need their student ID or if they have not yet received their 25/26 student ID, they will need to look up their Infinite Campus profile. This can be done in advance and screenshotted for quick access.
Building Hours
- Building opens at 8:05: Students may enter the building at 8:05 and will remain in the commons 8:20. Between 8:05-8:20 students may eat breakfast and socialize in the commons. At 8:20 students may begin to move to their classes.
- If your transportation situation makes it impossible to drop off your students later than 8:05 they will be allowed to stand in the vestibule (between the glass doors) until 8:05, particularly on inclement weather days
- Building Closes at 4:00: At 4:00pm the building closes daily. All students must be with an adult (coach, club/activity, 5th hour tutoring, etc) or leave the building for safety as we do not have supervision available after 4:00pm.
