Happy Summer!

I hope you are all enjoying the start to your summer! Please click on the blue button below to be redirected to the Summer Newsletter that will give suggestions for how to incorporate learning at home during the summer (in fun ways, of course!).

I also want to take another moment to thank everyone for a wonderful 14 years at Washington Elementary School. This school has developed me into the educator I am today, and I am so thankful for the connections I have made over the years with families, students, staff, and community members. Please stay in touch!

More information about Registration Verification for the 25-26 school year will come at a later date. Please be on the lookout, as this will need to be completed for ALL families prior to school beginning.

It will be required that this information is provided in the Powerschool system. Once directions are sent out, if you need access to a computer or would like help completing this process, please contact the school.

There is also a link below for kindergarten and new student registration. If you know of anyone who may need this information, please pass it along!

Summer Communication Summer Communication

There are big changes occurring at WES over the summer. A new principal will be hired and Dawn Bilski is transitioning to focus just on food service. I am unsure of what this means for school communication over the summer at this point, but if you need something, please reach out to the SAU at 603-464-4466 and they will direct you to the appropriate person. Once a plan is in place for a new principal, communication will go out to families.

Staffing for Next School Year Staffing for Next School Year

Classroom Teachers for Next Year

Ann Belanger - Ann will continue to run our Early Learning Program. We had a lot of interest this year!

Shirley Bergstresser - Next year will be Shirley's 5th year at WES. She will continue to teach our kindergarten and first grade learners.

Lisa Grolljahn - Lisa will be joining our wolf pack for her 2nd year next year. She will be teaching 2nd and 3rd graders.

Stephanie Engle - This will be Stephanie's 4th year at WES. She will be teaching 4th and 5th grade.

Specials

Yumiko Sandoe will continue to teach Unified Arts and Art on Mondays and Wednesdays.

Bruce Johnson will return to teach PE. This will happen mostly on Tuesdays.

Brittney Amyot will be joining WES to teach music. Brittney is the music teacher at Hillsboro-Deering High School and is excited to grow the program at WES so that she can see students again in high school! Because of her schedule at the high school, music will be mostly on Thursdays or Fridays from week to week.

Office

We are currently looking for a part-time administrative assistant. It is possible that this could be paired with a paraeducator position to make it full time. If you are interested, please apply at: https://www.applitrack.com/hdsd/onlineapp/default.aspx?AppliTrackPostingSearch=location:%22Washington+Elementary+School%22

Food Service

Dawn Bilski will be focusing just on food service next year.

Class Schedules

Once a new principal is hired, they will work with the teachers to create a schedule. During the 24-25 school year, we had to be creative with our configurations due to our enrollment numbers. This is something that is always possible at WES. If any big changes are made that you need to be aware of, the new principal will communicate those. Thank you for being flexible and patient during the transition!

Surveys Surveys

Parent Input for Federal Grants Survey

Our school receives several federal grants to support our students. We need your input as to how we can best meet the needs of our families as you are an important part of our team.

Title I funds are a large part of this funding. The focus of all Title I programs is to help eligible students meet the same high academic achievement standards expected of all children, regardless of their socioeconomic status and background. Title I funds at WES fund our Early Learning program, summer Jump Start for incoming kindergarten students, and supplemental academic support for K-5 students (summer, before school, or after school). Preparing our preschool children for their transition to kindergarten is an important step to ensure they are ready to be academically successful students!

We also receive funds to provide students with a well-rounded education, improve school conditions for student learning, and improve the use of technology to improve students' digital literacy, and funds to increase student achievement by improving teacher and principal quality.

Please click the button below to take a few minutes to take this survey. We would greatly appreciate it!
