Message from Principal and Assistant Principal

No School on Friday and Monday

School will not be in session on Friday and Monday in observance day. We will resume classes on Tuesday, September 5.

School Meals

We are off to a good start to our school meals program with a great number of students participating. Families can order breakfast in advance at https://chelmsfordpublicschool092-my.sharepoint.com/:w:/g/personal/oneill_chelmsford_k12_ma_us/EQ6gJ5eLzt1LiymYTuofL68BxG1mA4bdq0i6Hg1KUCoSuw?rtime=9WAT8p-p20g.

Please discuss the lunch options with your child so if they are getting a school lunch. Students order lunches in the morning with their teachers and then the cafeteria staff plan out meals with those numbers.

Also, as a reminder, online breakfast ordering is done by parents the week before each school week in order to plan correct amount of breakfasts for students.

Food Services Information

This year Massachusetts is offering all school lunch and breakfast at no charge to students. This does not automatically make families eligible for any other benefits. We strongly encourage families that feel they are eligible for transportation or extended day reduced tuition to fill out the online free and reduced meal application. If you do qualify for benefits you most likely will be eligible for SNAP benefits. https://www.mass.gov/snap-benefits-formerly-food-stamps

Some examples of SNAP benefits are discounts on gas, electric utilities and internet services.

Drop off and Pick Up

We appreciate everyone's patience as we everyone adjusts to arrival and dismissal routine. Please make sure you have your pick up numbers in your vehicle during dismissal so that we can efficiently get students you,

Please fill out this transportation form below for your each of your children so that we have everyone's consistent dismissal schedule. If your child's schedule should change on a given day, please contact their teacher and the main office.

BSA Back to School Social Tonight

Can you believe the start of school is right around the corner!?!? Join us tonight, Thursday August 31 from 5:30-7:30pm on the Byam Playground for some fun! The event is free! Pizza, water, and ice cream truck available for purchase, or bring your own picnic dinner!

**Note: parking across the street at Lockheed Martin, bathrooms will not be open**

Mark Your Calendar- Open House Curriculum Night

Open House Curriculum Night is such an important part of home-school partnership. This evening gives parents/guardians a chance to learn about our plans for the school year.

Below are the hours for our Curriculum Open House on Wednesday, September 20.

Grades K-2- 5:00-6:15

Parents/Guardians will begin the evening in the dining room at 5:00 pm for some brief remarks by Mr. Fredette and Mrs. Dolan. They will then proceed to the classrooms for the teacher's presentation.

Specialists, Special Education and Support Staff- 6:15-7:00

These staff members will be available in their classrooms/offices during the above time block. Grades 3-4 parents/guardians may visit after their classroom presentation and grades K-2 parents/guardians can visit before the presentation time below.

Grades 3-4- 7:00-8:15

Parents/Guardians will begin the evening in the dining room at 7:00 pm for some brief remarks by Mr. Fredette and Mrs. Dolan. They will then proceed to the classrooms for the teacher's presentation.

We welcome more building substitutes!

We have a number of Byam School community members we are an integral part of our Byam School work day community as Byam substitutes. We are always lookin for more substitutes to add to this great group!
