Monday Notes - Dec 1, 2025
November 9th, 2025
Happy December! Here’s to a month full of great music, concerts, time with family and friends, and a well-earned vacation! Take a few minutes to check out the reminders and updates in this newsletter so you don’t miss anything important.
All-State Reminders
Now that December’s here, the conference is coming up fast! Please double-check that you’ve taken care of the following so everything runs smoothly for you and your students:
- Send Neil Swapp your PO for student participation fees, or make sure payment has been made.
- Order and receive all required music (vendor).
- Check music order to ensure all music was included (programs).
- Order choral learning tracks (link) if you haven’t already.
- Review the posted student rosters and send any spelling corrections to Neil Swapp.
- Register yourself for the conference (link).
- If you need chaperone badges, be sure to include them in your registration.
- Confirm hotel reservations (conference hotel)
- Review expectations (link) with students.
Price Increase!
The registration price for the conference will increase on December 15th! If you haven't registered by now, do it today and save yourself the heartache of a late fee!
Advocacy!
Thank you to everyone who joined the “Fun with Advocacy” town hall on November 12. A special thanks to Daniel and Virginia for an excellent presentation. If you couldn’t make it, you can watch the recording and view the PowerPoint at the links below. The slides include live links to additional resources.
More Advocacy!
And on a national level! Let your voice (and influence) be heard by following this link and letting our elected officials know how important it is to support music education. Quick and easy and impactful!
State Band & Choir Contests
It’s time to register for the State Choir and Concert Band Contests. Please take a moment to register now so Zac can start building the schedule. It’s much easier for him to adjust if you end up needing to cancel than it is to add you at the last minute. The deadline to register is December 21st.
Estampas Mexicanas Bowings
As you are probably aware, we realized that the bowings in the purchased folders for Estampas Mexicanas came from a different edition; therefore, Amy emailed the correct, newly bowed parts for your students on Friday.
Please make sure students receive the updated parts and replace the incorrect bowed parts currently in their folders for Estampas Mexicanas.
An email was also sent via Opus alerting students to check with their teachers for correct parts as well (but student emails don't always get received).
