Dear Huskie Community,
Hope you are enjoying this wonderful fall weather. Please check out the information below.
Final reminder about our Core Chat: You are invited to attend our NNHS Core Chat this Wednesday evening, October 21, at 7PM. Some additional information is below including the prompts that will guide the small group conversations. Each school in the district will be hosting unique Core Chat events where the district will be gathering input from community members to inform the district Forward Together 2032 Plan. We anticipate the meeting will conclude before 8PM.
Go Huskies!!
Sincerely,
Jay Wachtel
NNHS CORE CHAT INFORMATION
When: 7PM on Wednesday, October 21
Where: NNHS Large Cafeteria
Purpose: We are gathered to listen and learn from your unique experiences to co-create the Forward Together 2032 plan. Your input is highly valued as we shape the future of Naperville 203. An independent third party, Innovate K12, will analyze all qualitative data collected across the district. They will synthesize these findings to generate the "What We Heard" reports, which will be published publicly on our website.
Non-Purpose: We are not here to debate specific district policies or review pre-made plans. This is a dedicated space for open, constructive dialogue to better understand community aspirations and needs.
Prompt 1: Picture a 2032 graduate who is truly thriving out in the world. What does the Naperville 203 school environment need to look like to make sure our schools are delivering those specific skills and experiences? What should we stop doing to make room for it?
Prompt 2: Trust is built or broken in the micro-moments. Think about a time when you or someone you know felt a disconnect or a breakdown in trust with the district or a school. Without naming names, what exactly went wrong in that interaction, and how could it have been handled differently to preserve the relationship?
Prompt 3: Sometimes, what we want to preserve (like academic success or traditional programming) directly clashes with what we need to evolve (like student mental health, balance, and new pathways). When our community's desire for tradition collides with our need for future innovation, how should Naperville 203 navigate that tension?

COCOA & CRAM CHAIR NEEDED!
NNHS Home & School is looking for a Cocoa & Cram Chair who can shadow THIS year (2026) and take the lead NEXT year (2027)!
WHAT IS COCOA & CRAM? This is an AMAZING event that allows students to come together just before December Finals Week to study and receive help from faculty, while enjoying Cocoa and other great treats. This event typically brings out 500 - 750 students and is wildly successful.
WHAT WOULD I DO? This year, the Chair would: 1) shadow our existing Home & School Exec Board in the execution of Cocoa & Cram planning and 2) volunteer during the Cocoa & Cram event (Wednesday, 12/9, 3:30-5:30 PM) to see it in action. Next year, the Chair would: Assume the Chair position and execute the event.
Responsibilities of the Chair would include:
securing Cocoa Cart sponsors (NEF, Counseling Dept, Boosters, etc.)
set up and manage the SignUp Genius for food donations & volunteers
order giveaway Gift Cards
manage volunteers
work with the Half Calf Director on the execution plan
work with H&S Social Media Chair to promote the event
event execution
WHAT IS THE TIME COMMITMENT? November thru mid-December
Curious? Email our H&S Vice President napervillenorthhsvp@gmail.com to inquire.
